@Ash: Do you live near a Gap? We just got lots of goodies today. They have an additional 50% off of red rag sales going on right now, I think until tomorrow. You could probably find a cute dress or outfit under $20 in the clearance rack. Good luck!

@aprild: haha any examples? ;)

@Foodnerd81: that's what I figured I'd do. Everyone else can pull off anything - me, not so much!

I'm not good at this kind of thing at all, but one piece of advice I thought was good is to dress mom first and base everyone else off that. Usually mom is the pickiest about for and style (especially postpartum) and your clothes are more expensive. You can always match it to some basics from DH's closet. And then if you end up buying new outfits for the LOs it's usually pretty cheap and easy.

I like your inspiration photo! What I usually do for family photos is have one person wearing a pattern of some sort. I don't like multiple people wearing patterns (unless they are very small scale), since it can make the photo look to busy. For the person wearing the pattern, I pull colors from that to base everyone else's wardrobe around. In one photo, my son wore a black and red plaid button up shirt. So I wore a red blouse and my husband wore a grey sweater. Grey is a nice neutral if everyone is wearing cool colors.

I suck at style and dressing trendy but we have family pics next month and I don't know where to start with dressing dh, ds (19 months), dd (3 weeks) and myself. Oh, and I'll only be 7 weeks pp so I'm sure I'll be carrying some extra weight that I'll need to hide. Any help?

Here's my inspiration photo!
