Usually mom is the pickiest about for and style (especially postpartum) and your clothes are more expensive. You can always match it to some basics from DH's closet. What I usually do for family photos is have one person wearing a pattern of some sort. I don't like multiple people wearing patterns (unless they are very small scale), since it can make the photo look to busy. For the person wearing the pattern, I pull colors from that to base everyone else's wardrobe around. In one photo, my son wore a black and red plaid button up shirt. So I wore a red blouse and my husband wore a grey sweater.
