1. I think at your house is totally fine as long as the hostesses are clearly noted on the invite.

2. I think about 6 weeks is good.

3. I love a paper invite and my sister made all my shower invites. Loved them and got a bunch of comments on them. For my BFFs baby shower, she didn't really want to get everyone's addresses for me and most of her family just wanted to do everything via email and phone calls so that's what happened. I think paper is nicer though...

@lawbee11: IMO its not tacky, but it may take up a bit more space to explain the options...call or text 555-5555 or email host@gmail.com

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Do you think it's tacky to put a text/email option on a paper invite?

1) I think your home is fine! I've been to showers at the mama to be's home.

2) I think 4-5 wks prior is good unless the shower will be during the busy season or on a holiday weekend. Then it might be nice to send it about 6 wks prior to give guests sufficient notice.

3) I personally think evites are fine. It's convenient and quick!

1. Your house is fine. You can even play with how to describe the location...Baby Lawbee's Crib

Since it will be at your home you could assemble the crib and place bunting on it and gifts inside. Just some decor stuff to think about.

2. 4 weeks should be fine.

3. Paper invites are soo cute, but I think e-vites are easier on the hosts for getting a head count. People are really anti-social and would rather text, email, accept/decline online instead of calling a host.

1) you can totally have them in your house! I put the kabosh on this because I didn't want 25 people in my house messing things up and using my bathrooms, though. It's just stressful to prep for that many people, so get them to clean for you!!

2) 4 weeks seems to be good

3) paper. Definitely paper

1) Heck yeah, will make it easier for you not having to lug gifts back. But I would make them come over the day before and clean, set up everything and then clean up afterwards.
2) I usually do 4-5 weeks since I know people's schedules fill up so fast.
3) Paper. This way you get one to keep. If you are worried about people not RSVPing, you can always do regrets only. Or give the option for people to call or email with their RSVP.

1. Go ahead and have it at your place!
2. We sent them 5 weeks ahead. 4-6 is the norm.
3. We sent some paper invites and some e-vites.

I would go for paper! I think people take things more seriously when it's not done on an evite. Definitely send them out at least a month in advance.

1. I don't think it's a no-no, and if you're comfortable with it, then definitely do it! Just one word of caution, I had a friend do this and she ended up feeling a lot of pressure to do a lot of the helping set up/cleaning, etc. and she didn't like that!

2. I've heard about 4 - 6 weeks is perfect.

3. Don't know what they'll do for mine, however I just went to one that did online invites and they were SO cute! (and sent you an email reminder!aha!)

1) as long as the invite is clear that your mom and friend are hosting I think it's totally fine to have it at your house.

2) we sent invites 4 weeks before the shower and the RSVP date was 1 week before the shower.

3) I personally prefer a paper invite for a shower but if you have a predominantly younger/tech savvy guest lists I think evites are ok.

1) if you have the space go for it!!! I think that sounds awesome.

2) I would say 4-6 weeks which is my typical window for an invite-event

3) We did paper. A little more formal. IMO I don't like evites BUT if budget is a concern then I'd go that route. There are some more classy ones through paperless post, or you could still buy a design off Etsy and send everyone the image!

I have a few questions about baby showers:

(1) My mom and possibly a family friend are planning to host my baby shower. My mom asked if we could have the shower at my house, though (my house is much bigger/more open than my parents' house). Is that a no-no in the etiquette world, or would that be ok? I like that we wouldn't have to lug the gifts anywhere because they'd already be at our house.

(2) She asked me how far in advance she should send the invites and I have no idea. How far in advance were yours sent? A month?

(3) Did you send paper invites or e-vites? I am leaning towards paper, but e-vites are so convenient for RSVPing.

Thanks!!
