@sorrycharlie introduced me to sweet and sour meatballs... equal parts chili sauce (sold in the supermarket next to the ketchup) and grape jelly (not jam), mix and heat meatballs in it in slow cooker. They were AMAZING.

Hummus with assorted dipping items (veggies, crackers, etc...). Or maybe an antipasto plate? Just arrange salamis, olives and cheeses on a platter and drizzle with olive oil. You could also put some crackers on the side.

Meatballs, chili, pulled chicken/beef/pork sandwiches... all could be made in slow cooker with very little work and guests could serve themselves

If you're looking for a substantial dip, buffalo chicken dip could be filling and easy to whip up.

Your thoughts? We're doing chicken salad croissants, fruit salad, cupcakes, apple brickle dip, and pimento cheese. I think we need one more filling dish. I'm doing the fruit salad and the cupcakes though, so I need something that is easy to put together because I have to bake and decorate 45 cupcakes. So something that people dip out onto their plate is better than something that I have to make individual pieces of....ideas? Must be pregnant-woman friendly (ie, no cold ham). Vegetarian ideas welcome!
