@HolisticMama: if I'm honest, it's a defense mechanism. I tend to expect/prepare for the worst in most situations. I have always been convinced that I'd have trouble reproductively (for no reason other than a "gut" feeling) so for it to happen so quickly seems beyond belief.

That's why it's been good for me to be channeling my anxiety towards hopefulness:).

Enjoy the hope of the new moon

@ChiCalGoBee: Nope. No signs of AF yet. Today is the New Moon and I have been cycle on the lunar cycle for a few months now, which was something I was working on for quite sometime.
http://www.moonsong.com.au/spiritualmenstruation.html

So I'm hoping that if I'm not pregnant, that maybe I can start my new cycle today?
I prayed a bit this morning and will take a walk this afternoon when the moon is fully new. So we'll see what happens.
BFN test again this morning.

I thought about it this morning and being pregnant- or not being pregnant- wouldn't really change how I am living my daily life at the moment. So everything is okay.

Why do you feel doubtful?

@HolisticMama: your attitude is SO positive-I love that. Did AF show up yet? Maybe you ovulated late...

I feel pretty normal. Temp went up .5 degree today which is meaningless, although better up than down? 7DPO right now....I know rationally there is nothing I can do but hope, so I'm hoping even though I'm feeling doubtful. Thanks for asking

@ChiCalGoBee: How are you feeling today?
Fortunately I haven't had any SO disappointed moments. I always see the beginning of the cycle as a new start- and I totally nurture and indulge myself during those period days. After our RE told us we had a 1% chance of conceiving- I was absolutely crushed. Devastated. And then I discovered that I get to choose how I want to respond to situations, so I'm trying to implement the same mindset to the TTC journey.

@HolisticMama: It's funny. Now that I'm within a week of either testing or my period, I'm almost MORE anxious. Since CD1 I've been all, "hurry up and get here, end of cycle!" and now, it's either going to be SO big and wonderful or SO disappointing that I'm a little afraid of it. I'm the weirdest.

@ChiCalGoBee: Yeah. I stopped testing this morning because I realized, "Good Lord. I'm just wasting these things!" LOL.

@Happygal: It also helped with the "If one more person tells me to just RELAX" stuff...I am a naturally anxious person, so going into this huge, big thing is hard. I know it's hard on everyone, but I went into this knowing how much I'd struggle over the lack of control. I almost bought Wondfos today so I could test daily (not the best choice for me, probably!), but with the knowledge about the DPO and positive pee sticks, I restrained myself. It might not seem like a big deal, but it is!

@dc yoga bee: I'm not laughing! I borrowed mine from the library, so no judgement here about "trying before buying." I also borrowed TCoYF and know I have to purchase it. I'm sure I can find one second hand...

@HolisticMama: I read naturally knocked up, and at the end was literally just like, "well damn. I'm never going to get knocked up at this rate, and will probably die from using pine sol to clean. And without a mask to boot!" Very eye opening book!

I read a sample of the impatient women's guide on my ipad (don't judge I have a hard time committing to purchasing a book lol) and I liked the light hearted approach.

@CatchAFallingStar: I feel the same way. Lighthearted enough to be fun, but enough practical advice to be useful. She gave a very sound, research-based approach to why you shouldn't POAS before 11 DPO. This has helped give me resolve to hold off, since it's almost certain that it will be BFN before then even if you are actually preggo. @holisticmama: Thanks! I'll look and see if our libraries carry it:-).

I'm reading The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant (http://www.amazon.com/Impatient-Womans-Guide-Getting-Pregnant/dp/1451620705), and wanted to recommend it to any of you that are in the TWW/early stages of TTC. Yes, it does rehash a lot of info that TCoYF does (and I LOVE that book!), but it's different. The author tries to be your best girlfriend who is going through the process with you, so is a bit more lighthearted. Her "we are BFFs" tone can get a little bit silly at times, but she has a PhD and the data she puts in here uses a decent number of scientific studies, rather than just stating her opinion (I felt like Shettles's book was missing some good Scientific data, as a comparison). Anyway, I got mine from the library and have found it really interesting, so wanted to pass it on as a fun, quick read for those that need to keep their minds busy!
