When my baby was three months old, I asked her pediatrician if a baby could sleep too much. She said nope and that I probably shouldn't tell my new mom friends how awesome of a sleeper I had. Enjoy it!

This is how my second is. She has ALWAYS put herself to sleep, has been STTN since about 8 months (at 3, big sister still doesn't!), and is a stellar nap taker. She will be 2 in April and still needs two naps a day. She totals like 4 hours worth of naps a day and 11 to 12 hours overnight. Like you, I sometimes wonder if she's normal, but am usually just happy that she's so "easy".

@FaithFertility: whatever they do, is normal! My colleague's son slept so much as a baby, they literally could never do anything. He was either down for the night early or napping forever. My freakin kid only naps like 30mins at a time. The worst!

Omg, delete this posts before you jinx it! :silly: My daughter was like this (with a rough patch around 11 months for a month or so) but is back to being a rockstar sleeper at 21 months. Number 2 is due in May and I am well aware he or she will be a nightmare in the sleep department :)

My second was an amazin sleeper like that from 8-14 weeks when I went back to work. So sad she sleeps worse than a newborn now (though naps are pretty good finally!) I think he's def normal and I hope keeps it up for you!

@FaithFertility: please share any secret magic for baby sleep. DD2 is 1 month old and she's up every 2 hours during the night, takes 30 mins naps, needs to be held to fall asleep, etc. This is much better than DD1 who cried and cried, and only slept for 30 mins-1 hour morning and night, and we had to hold her allllllll the time.

I was really hoping DD2 would be a magic sleep baby, but she just seems "normal". :silly:

Yay that is awesome!!!! I feel like kids who are good sleepers generally stay that way, even when there are brief "intermissions".

I'm over here shaking my fist at all the people who insisted that second babies are better sleepers, ha! Although perhaps it's too soon to tell at 4 days old. :)

I second @knittylady, because my now five-month-old WAS like that...Started sleeping at least eight hours straight at around eight weeks. But now that he's rolling over, we're transitioning from the swaddle and he's just more active in general...Well, last night he was up at 10, 1, 4, and 6. :meh:
