I had two blankets that I was like this about as a kid. My mom says she used to have to come in and figure it out when the one I wanted had gotten kicked off the bed or tangled under the covers or something. I outgrew it on me own. Well..I kind of outgrew it. I still have both blankets on my bed (in my defense, they're nice full-size ones.) But I can find them myself now

I'd just give it to her. But after over a year of being woken up multiple times/night I consider 1-2 wake ups a great night and feel perfectly well rested haha.

So it's not quite the same since my LO has 2 different loveys, a monkey and a "baby" (bunny). But he randomly gets really in to new toys (cars, balls etc..) and will wake in the night asking for them. Either because he was dreaming about them or something jogs his memory about it. Most recently it's been .. A makeup sponge (clean and unused, of course). He discovered this at grandmas when he saw hers and she gave him a fresh one. Luckily he's moved on from that phase since then but jeeze, keeps me on my toes because I never know WHAT he's going to ask for. I usually don't cave though. I try and divert his thoughts to his actual loveys or maybe a cuddle instead otherwise he'll end up sleeping with the kitchen sink haha.

@mrbee: yes! Occasionally! He will cry and say he can't find regular wise. It's usually buried under the covers. That's my husbands job though I suspect it takes just a minute to find :)

Hm we have this problem (regular (old) wise (lion) v soft (new) wise). If he is distraught and can't find regular wise we just go to him and find it under the covers. There is another regular wise in the closet just in Case but he can't know that!

My daughter has two loveys that are exactly the same: she calls the old one her "cold" lovely, I guess because cold rhymes with old. And using perfect kid logic, she calls her new lovey her "warm" lovey. She likes to choose between both loveys but in general, she prefers the older one.

Last night, she woke up sobbing that her lovey was "too warm"! Sure enough, she was holding the newer "warm" lovey. I handed her the older "cold" lovey, and she settled back down and fell asleep.

This has happened a few times, even when I make sure she goes to bed with both loveys. Any advice on how to manage this? I've tried not going to her, but she becomes inconsolable. It's not a night terror though, because she immediately settles down when I give her the proper lovey.

Maybe I should have the two loveys sewn together? Not sure if that might make things worse though... any ideas?
