@mrs. wagon: Unfortunately, the way her room is set up, there is no sneaking in or else I would. I tried crawling in but she found thy hilarious. I will try and stick her favorite doll in there today and see if that helps. Or I do have an extra lovey that I ordered as back up that I switch out so maybe I can give her two. Luckily, she only throws it out after she wakes up so she does get a nap in but she always wakes up once or twice and falls back asleep.

ugh, we had this problem for a bit. For a while I kept a spare on hand and when he was looking the other way I'd open the nursery door and throw the spare into the crib while he wasn't looking. Haha. I looked into Wonder Bumpers just so that he couldn't push the lovey outside the crib bars but they're so expensive!! Sorry I don't have better advice :( But Wagon Jr. was the same way... he'd grab his lovey and put his fingers in his mouth right away. Maybe you can introduce other stuffed animal type lovey things and put them all in the crib? She might throw most out but maybe one will make the cut..?

One small suggestion would be to ramp down right before naptime... maybe read a book in the dark or play soft music and do massage with lotion... just to get her drowsier so that she doesn't go into playtime mode when she enters the crib.

My daughter is 11 months old and has been putting herself to sleep since she was about six months old which is the same time I introduced her to her lovey. At that same time, she decided she didn't want her paci any more and she wanted her thumb instead. Since then, I have put her down in her crib and the second she touches her lovey, her thumb goes in her mouth and she goes to sleep. All that just to say that, the past two naps and this morning she is throwing the lovey over the side of her crib and then immediately starts fussing so she doesn't fall back alseep. This is really cutting her sleep times short. How can I break this habit? If I go on there to give her the lovey, all bets are off and she thinks it is play time and throws the lovey back out. When does this throwing stage end???
