Here is a link to the photographer's writeup about it.

Did you wonder about your own tot's toys after this? I wonder how my daughter's favorite toys would 'reflect the world' she lives in today. Right now she's into little play people, finger puppet animals and similar stuffed animals (panda family/bunny family). Maybe something about relationships...

@808love: pretty neat! Thanks for sharing! I found the super pink Albanian bedroom almost as disturbing as the guns.

I agree about the gun pic too. The political statement of that picture speaks for itself.

I loved the beauty in the Italian girl's pic the best.

Also I wondered about the Chinese girl who had a ton of educational toys and if all of them are considered 'favorite' because there is not the emotional attachment/differentiation, only an intellectual benefit.

I agree. I have nothing against kids playing with guns but he was asked to show his favourites... and they are ALL guns. Doesn't have have any other variety!?

My favourite is the one in Chongqing, China. She seems like she has a healthy variety of toys from stuffed animals, to blocks, to music, to kitchen to trucks. She doesn't seem to be poor so I wonder how she was with sharing.

I also agree with some of the comments about the photographer's selection of images. Would have liked to see Africa and America depicted more fairly.

I liked the girl with the Stars and Stripes bedding. She's just got a collection of balls. The boy with the toy gun collection is a tad bit disturbing.

I loved this montage of international photos! It really gives you a glimpse into values of different cultures. I bet he had them dress in their favorite outfit too. In case you just like to look at pics, an interesting part of the text said that the richer kids took longer to share than the kids with just a few toys.
