Ugh....I am DREADING potty training! Our daycare is excellent but definitely doesn't flush poop out at any age...ours would have done the same thing. I know I would just be telling them to throw the accident underpants in the trash.

Ahhhh fun. I never dealt with washing machine poop, but DS pooped in his undies for almost 2 months after being pee trained. Thankfully they were pretty firm .... But I always felt so glamorous stain-sticking his undies.

I had my godson for the weekend a couple of months ago and he is newly potty trained. He wears pull ups at night. About 11:30pm, I was falling asleep then I wake to his voice calling out from downstairs..."oh no big poop, big poop!" So I thought oh he has to poop, no big deal. I take him to the bathroom to find out he's already pooped and it was the hugest blowout ever. Thankful most of it was in pull up but they don't contain blowouts very well. It leaked onto his back and was running down his PJs. I had to give him a 2nd bath at midnight, rinse his clothes in color safe bleach, and do a load of laundry. It felt like the newborn days all over again but much grosser! LOL. Infants are so cute so I was never grossed out by their poops. I am not looking forward to potty training at all.

@PinkElephant: no and they're not being passive aggressive. They're just doing what they're used to, I guess. They do not dump poop into the toilet, I'm sure. I know I don't when it's in diapers or pull-ups.

@BananaPancakes: That is terrible, but it made me laugh on a rough afternoon!

@mediagirl: It only takes one time of rewashing laundry to remember to check for poop. It happened to me too. Luckily, only once.

Ugh! Does daycare require kids to be potty trained at a certain age? Both their policies on accidents (throwing out the underwear or refusing to dump the poop) seem kind of passive aggressive. You're meant to dump solid poop from diapers in the toilet anyway so it's not like these are extra steps they have to take due to accidents.

I can't believe they won't toss the poop! That's ridiculous. Do they allow cloth diapers? Mine does and they always toss out the poop for me unless it's really runny, then I get that fun job.

I can't tell you how many times I've had to bleach my washing machine because some poop got left behind.

@Smurfette: @kiddosc: I think it's not in their list of duties. They threw away her first pair of undies that she pooped in and I asked them to just send them home. So, they're sending them home all right...poop and all. At least now I know to look out for it...

J is 3 and still wears Pull-Ups most of the time, I'm scared to switch him to underpants, at least during the week, because I have no idea what I'd do with dirty - soiled - clothes.
Potty training. Fun times.

Ewww... Why was there a log? Don't they dump that before they bag up her clothes? I would be talking to daycare, a warning at least would be nice.

Eh hem. Poop alert.

Last night I got home and threw my daughter's dirty clothes from daycare (the ones she had accidents in) into the washer. I didn't think twice. I threw in a few other dirty clothes I had around.

I moved everything to the dryer and as I did, I came upon a poop log. It was 10:30 at night. We don't have a utility tub so I threw the log away, threw everything into a tub with some oxyclean and let it soak for a half hour. Then I drained and cleaned the tub, moved the clothes to the washer and washed them again, with an extra rinse and spin...

Ugggghhhhh. Potty training is the worst. I now know I was definitely never meant to cloth diaper. Haha!
