I think there is a way but I'm not sure. The Mint support team answers questions on their message board pretty quickly though!

@MrsBrewer: oh good, glad that helped! I feel like it's a lot easier to navigate mint once you have about a month's worth of data.

@raspberries: I wonder if you could use one of the budgeting tools to track that...and then set a rule so every check in that amount is categorized a specific way so it goes under that budget or goal or whatever...I haven't really explored that stuff so not sure if that would help. I think dh updated it manually, but fortunately the mortgage was transferred to citi almost immediately!

That's true - we have to pay our mortgage by check, and it shows up in Mint every month. I was thinking more along the lines of how to keep track of how much I've paid off, rather than showing that money went there... if that makes sense, haha!

I really love Mint, but I wish there was a way to manually enter accounts like that - if there is only one transaction a month like a loan payoff, it wouldn't be too annoying to manually enter it and update the balance of the loan.

@Pirouette: Yep you are totally right! Sorry I just signed up for it so I'm new to this whole thing! I'm still trying to figure out what effects what in everything!

@MrsBrewer: that's what DH did. So doesn't the check show up if your checking account is linked to mint? and just rename it from "check #___" to "loan repayment" or whatever you want to call it

how do you pay the loans? DH had a mortgage that couldn't be added, so he manually added the loan amount it to our "debt" so our income/debt ratio was more accurate, but the monthly payments showed up because he paid them by check from our checking, so he just categorized the check payments each month as loan repayment.

I don't think it's possible... or if it IS possible, I haven't figured out a way to do it yet. Our mortgage is through a relatively small bank with crazy weird security settings, so I can't enter it into Mint either.

My solution is basically just to keep a manual spreadsheet to track mortgage payments, but I'm not sure if it'd be worth it for smaller loans.

More motivation to pay them off sooner?

I just signed up for Mint.com a couple of days ago, and I have 2 loans that are through really small credit unions who don't even have websites that I can log onto online. Is there still a way that I can manually enter in the loan amount and payments each month in my Mint.com account? That way it shows all of the current loans for me?

I was trying to search around, but I couldn't find this option at all.
