We had this and actually went to the ER (would have gone to the ped but midmove and currently on 2 insurances, the old insurance said since we are not in the area with the old ped--go to ER).
He had an anal fissure, (He is 7.5 months.)
She said not to give him anything "bulky" to eat--so just nursing and possibly cereal. Luckily he isn't much of an eater anyway.
It can happen from constipation--or frequent diarrhea (or regular, running EBF poop).

The signs to go back for EMERGENCY were -hard stomach, -bile vomit (green), -worsening mucousy blood, -high fever.

Could be the same, or something different.

We had this and the pediatrician said it might be a dairy problem. Does she normally have mucuousy stools?

@mrbee: she's had dairy issues before, but I've been back on dairy for 6 months so it seems weird that it would happen now?

And yes, I called when the first one happened on Tuesday and the nurse said to call if it happened again, it did last night so I'm waiting for the clinic to open.

Has there been a recent diet change? My LO had this and we had to change formulas.

It could be an allergy to milk or bm? Or has there been recent constipation?

Either way, I would call the doctor just in case!

I haven't had that, but I would call the pediatrician. Any blood in the diaper causes concern for me.

So Wonder Baby has twice in the past couple days had a streak of bloody mucus in her diaper. Bright red, not dark, and not in the stool. She doesn't have diarrhea and is totally fine otherwise except teething (she's bitey and had red cheeks).

Anyone had this? Would you chalk it up to teething?
