You'll be there on Christmas so that would be such a bummer at least for my kids to come home and have no tree on the actual day of! </p> <p>You could even do a mini one, we did a 3 ft one year because we didn't want to deal with too much hassle.. although our dd was newly two then and didn't mind at all. We celebrate at home before we leave, and our own tree is just such a part of our family tradition. But that being said, DH and I are trying for our first hold. If I had kids, I would absolutely put up a tree so I voted yes. </p> <p>The magic of Christmas, for me is about faith. But the tree, decorations, presents and baking is about family traditions. And those are so important to me, that if I had kids I’d definitely put up a tree and decorate. I am torn about doing not doing it this year because I love the tree - I am an early riser and love to turn the tree lights on and have my cup of coffee looking at it and thinking about the memories. </p> <p>So I say make the mess and put up the tree and decorations. It's a huge part of building the Christmas spirit to decorate the house IMO. We will also be doing our nuclear family Christmas once we get back. I would absolutely put up a tree. We won’t even be here for Christmas, we leave on the 22nd and don’t get back until the 27th, but the tree is already up and decorated. You have kids and you always do live trees. Will you skip the tree completely this year, or will you still buy a tree? </p>
