I'm a complete Type A personality but am surprisingly very laid back as a parent. My first few weeks I kept an intensive journal but it started to freak me out so now I just go with the flow and just pick up on my maternal instincts. Instead of "the book says I need to put her down now" I just pay attention and know when the right time is.

I wasn't sure how it would be but I'm pleased that I'm pretty laid back. It helped that when I started reading articles on the "right" way to do things and found lots of conflicting information (i.e. "Babywearing promotes bonding and you must do it!" "No, it hinders independence and movement!") I realized that if even the experts can't agree, then there's probably not one right way and I should just chill out and do everything in moderation and according to my instinct. Seems to be working pretty well so far.

I'm pretty good about most things, but I just can't let go (literally and figuratively) when it comes to letting people hold LO. I have let a few people hold her, but on the whole, I am not a fan of *letting go.* So, I guess my OCD-ness has evened itself out, i.e., more relaxed in some, but ramped up in others? :P

I didn't have any preconceived notions of how I would be and overall, I think I've been very laidback and go-with-the-flow. My ILs, however, don't think I'm very go-with-the-flow so perhaps I'm more Type A about parenting that I think I am.

Me! I was a complete germaphobe before LO arrived, but once she was born, it was like a switch flipped and I started thinking exposure to germs would be good for her immune system. I don't let her lick restaurant tables or anything but I'm much more lax than I thought I would be. I'm pretty rigid about her sleep schedule but that's more because she's a happier baby when she's on a schedule. Motherhood has definitely (somewhat) tamed my neurotic ways!

as you thought you'd be about motherhood/post partum?

I thought I'd be crazy about feeding, sleeping, etc, etc. Aside from Baby Connect that helped me get a grasp on DS' loose schedule in prep for coming back to work.

I've surprised myself at how "go with the flow" and chill I've been about DS' schedule, sleeping, who holds him, etc.

And I haven't touched Baby Connect since I came back to work last week.
