DD only gets a solid 1x per day. We usually only give her a fruit or veggie and it is at lunch time. Today she had a banana and tomorrow she will have sweet potato. I don't worry about giving her solids though and some days we just skip it.

She didn't eat much/refused to eat at 6 months, so we really started breakfast at around 8 months. She eats a fortified gluten and lactose free porridge with puree and every other day, a banana with it.

At 6 months, it was more that we did tastes of solids here and there rather than real meals. If you want squishy non-puree options, we stuck to banana, avocado, and sweet potato for a while. Pear (very ripe) and apple (cooked) also mashes up pretty easy into a consistency that's not quite puree, but squishy enough to be edible for little ones.

P is almost 1 but has the same thing for breakfast every day. Coconut milk yogurt with a fruit (usually thawed frozen blueberries) and a tsp of chia seeds mixed in. We didn't really start breakfast until last month though.

When LO was 6 months, her first meal was lunch. LO didn't start eating solids for breakfast until closer to 7 months. Regardless, those first meals were the same anyway of pureed fruit or veggies (pears or butternut squash).

I seem to have a harder time figuring out what to give LO for breakfast. She is pretty picky with what she eats, and probably just prefers to nurse but I want to broaden her options. She eats purees, but I try and give her softer foods she can mash on her own to try too. I need some ideas...what did you feed your 6 month old for breakfast?
