We have one that's just a nice dark blue. I've started draping it over DS in his crib while he sleeps if it's cold out. It never stays on him as he's super roly poly but I like it.

@lawbee11: I have given ideas to some who have asked. But no one in my family would spend that much on a blanket and would give me crap if they knew I did. I will just order it myself! I just won't tell DH.

@Smurfette: I think so! DD uses hers at daycare and on the weekends for her naps.

I don't use them at night because it gets cold and she still uses a sleep sack. But i like the weight of the blanket (not great for summer, but good for fall/winter). Plus it's quite soft!

Right now D just uses a regular swaddle - I put it on him when I lay him in the crib, but within a few minutes he rolls over and snuggles with it. When he's fussy, if we hand it to him, he'll crumple it up and put it against his face or lay down on it.

I agree that it's a lot bigger and thicker than I originally thought it was going to be, but I think once she's (a lot) older, it'll be a good bed blanket. I think it's too big/heavy to be a carseat blanket and you definitely couldn't (or wouldn't want to) swaddle with it.

We have a couple of dream blankets for LO. It's his pillow/blanket since he turned one. They wash really nicely and are sturdy. It's a heavier weight than the swaddles, but soft in its own way. It took some convincing for me to agree to it, but I like it now for LO.

My favorite thing about it is the weight. It is heavy but not too hot. I personally sleep better with heavy blankets on me and I think lo does too.

@scg00387: I would use it in bed. The only thing is I don't find it super "cuddly"--like the fabric isn't really that smushable, if that makes sense. But maybe it's because we haven't used it a ton, so it hasn't softened up yet?

@Smurfette: How often would you have to bring it there and back? Every day or bring it on Monday and bring it home on Friday? It's pretty thick so it won't just roll up and fit into a bag unless you have a large tote bag or something like that. I use M's at night to cuddle up on the couch! :)

We have the bamboo one and I am obsessed with it. lo sleeps with it and it is big enough that it will be his blanket through toddlerhood. I really want one for myself (they just came out with a line of bamboo blankets for grown ups) but they are too expensive... To me it was worth the price. We didn't buy any other fancy bedding for his crib (all he has is a sheet) so I didn't mind the expense for something I knew would last.

@scg00387: Each of my LO's has one. Clearly, DD isn't using hers yet, but I couldn't pass it up! They are really great, it was DS's first blanket in the crib, and he still sleeps with it in his big boy bed, in addition to a duvet. DS's is more than 2 years old and still really soft and in great shape. Oddly, I bought a different pattern for DD and it is quite a bit larger and even softer than DS's, but I don't think it's the bamboo one.

We have a dream blanket...we haven't used it at all yet. It's large and pretty thick--it seems like it would be a good stroller blanket or a blanket for when LO is older (like 1 or 2) to put over him. It's not good for swaddling or anything like that. IMO it's too big and thick to be a "blankie" like a lovey--I think their regular muslin blankets would be great for that though.
