I don't know if this qualifies, but DS #2 failed his hearing screening twice in the hospital. We had to go to Children's Hospital for a re-screen. He passed the re-screen and other tests.

My niece and nephew were both found to have zero carnitine in their blood at birth, and both were diagnosed with carnitine transport disorder, which is the leading cause of SIDS, and can be quite serious. Eventually they figured out that my sister has it, not the children - so she's getting treated, and they're fine.

Just curious ...

Has anyone had anything abnormal come up on the newborn screening?

We got a call 2 weeks after our second child's birth that he tested positive for Fabry Disease - they just started testing for it my state 2 years ago. I was later diagnosed and so was my 3 year old.
