I'm not sure, but if you are considering new inserts, we use the GMD medium sized (red) prefolds and they fit perfectly in the flip covers.

I started using a hemp insert on top of the regular size insert and it definitely helps the absorbancy and leaking issues. I also changed the snaps, unsnapping the front snaps (on 4.0's) actually helped my leak issues because they were getting too bunched up when he walked around and would leak out of the top.

@birdofafeather: I'm not sure. I got them from a friend, never used them as prefolds, actually used them as burp cloths when LO was wee. And saw it suggested somewhere online to try prefolds, so I did with the smaller/thin BG insert and no more leaking! They don't seem to be anything fancy though, and I just fold the outside 1/3s onto the middle third.

@birdofafeather: yep I use both. I also have some thinner bamboo inserts I sometimes use and they work great too.

@birdofafeather: oh, for day we use the two BG inserts (OS+newborn) and add a Hemp Babies insert at night.

@autumnlove: which hemp inserts? So 3 inserts for daytime?
@Beebug: which prefolds? We have combos of flips and 4.0s so I can play around.
@bushelandapeck: you used both the OS and the newborn insert? I might try that.

New inserts solve this for us! About the same timing too! I think the regular inserts just weren't enough! We use prefolds folded with the smaller insert and our problems vanished!

We use 4.0s only!

Maybe new elastics? My 4.0s are semi retired until I replace the leg elastics. We don't have leaks when the elastics are stretchy...we use both BG inserts on top of a thin hemp insert.

We had a lot of leaks so I ended up using an additional infant insert in addition to te regular insert. DS is a super heavy wetter and one insert just wasn't cutting it. It makes for a bulky bum but I rarely have leaks so I'm fine with it.

Agh, #$%^%&#@, us too - exact same problems! L usually goes through 3 pair of pants at daycare everyday.

I think what I need is new inserts... (we use pockets). Really annoyed though, because those aren't necessarily cheap, when I need to stuff 30+ diapers!

If you have BG diapers, you can call the Cotton Babies number and talk to one of their customer service specialists. They are wonderfully helpful

Is it possible they need to be stripped because they simply aren't absorbent anymore?

We've been CDing since the beginning with little to no issues. Now, at 15 months, we're having leak issues all over the place! I need help troubleshooting!

First, we had leaks out the seat, which I think are due to bad PUL in my BG 4.0s. I pulled those out of the rotation. Then we started getting leaks around the legs. I thought it was just because she pooped and then we didn't change her fast enough. Now, I had an issue where it's leaking near the leg holes, but in actuality, the inserts (Flips and 4.0s) are bunching up near her crotch, so they're not even absorbing pee on the sides, so any extra pee is leaking right through the cover!

How do I get the inserts to cover her whole crotch from leg to leg? Could my elastic be too relaxed? Do I need to get new inserts? HELP!
