Best advice: you are not alone. - It really covers a whole gamut of feelings and emotions and is so important to remember when you're in the thick of things

Worst advice: information on child abuse hotlines when I admitted that I had yelled at my two year old (and yeah, hit him on his belly) after he bit me

No one ever told me this but I think good advice would be to not sweat the small stuff and to trust your motherly instincts.

The worst is just when complete strangers try to tell you what to do.

Or my mother did not understand breastfeeding since she never did it herself so she kept telling me to stop doing it instead of being more supportive.

Best: Do what works for you.
Worst: After my LO was napping for over 3 hours, someone tried to wake her up. When I asked her not to, she said, "It will help her sleep at night." Uh. hello, LO was 6 weeks old at the time!

Best: Mylecon drops. These saved my life the first few weeks.
Worst: Nothing yet on the advice front, but I've had some horrible comments/questions. Like the furniture salesman asking me if my daughter was planned. Um, how is that your business?! Or the neighbor asking me when that baby was getting here three days AFTER delivery when I was just starting to feel somewhat normal again. Sigh.

For the most part I've ignored everyone. Aside from the "Do what is best for your child and family" and "Remember every child is different so what works for one may not work for the other" I have pretty much just let the info go in one ear and out the other.

Best advice: don't buy too much stuff for your newborn. Other people will buy stuff and/or gift it to you. Plus newborns grow so quickly that it's not really worth it to spend too much on their clothes!

Worse advice: Most advice I've heard has been pretty solid! I don't really talk shop with other parents though.

Best :
#1 - Do what you feel is right, you know your baby best.

Worst :
People giving me unsolicited advice on how to raise my child. but thats an on-going thing.

It seems like everyone loves to give advice to new or soon-to-be moms, whether they want it or not :)

What's the #1 best piece of advice anyone has ever given you about parenting? How about the worst?
