All you can do is click the little setting for custom sharing (the gear) and then add the aunts to the blocked list. You don't have to defriend them, but they'll never see the pictures & thus can't re-share (yes, I learned this because of having to do it to my MIL)

@Beebug: I put my MIL on my restricted and limited lists. Whenever I post anything, I make it clear that those on these lists won't see what's posted. I check the "View As" to be sure. I also have my future posts set up to have whatever I post not to shown to those lists as well.

Argh, this is why I hate FB! I think only your friends (and you) can see what she shared though. You might still have a conversation with her about it!

@Crumbs: @jmarionsmith is right. The only way other people would be able to see it would be if your aunt saved the pic to her computer and re-posted it with her own security settings. If she used the in-fb share option then your security settings still apply.

I just quit facebook, lol.

MIL wouldn't stop.

If I go back, I will de-friend her, then continue, but oh what fun drama that will be!

@Crumbs: I hate FB so much because of this. I've tried addressing the issue but people usually ignore what I say. The only way to delete the photo from their page is to delete it from FB completely. Their friends can still see the pictures even if you have your privacy settings set to "friends only." I believe it also gives them access to the album that the photo is in.

@jmarionsmith: Whew! I feel a little relieved because I always set it to friends only.

@ladyfingers: It's so annoying! What's really annoying is the pics DH posted aren't even on my FB and yet it's shared! Argh.

Oh man. This is a sore spot with me. Dh's uncle is constantly sharing pictures of our infant from Facebook with his friends. I'm on the verge of defriending him, but he'd still share dh's images and he won't say anything to him. Bleh.

@jmarionsmith: that's sounds about right.

I would still have a conversation with them that you do not want them sharing pics of your children. Most people are understanding. Good luck

i'm pretty sure your privacy settings determine who can see the pictures, even if someone shares it. you can set it so that only your friends can see the pictures. that way if they do share it, only mutual friends of you and your aunts will be able to see it. i hope i'm not wrong.

That's a bummer! I am not a FB expert by any means, but I think once they share it is in their hands and they have to delete it. So I would send them a message asking them to delete it!

I have a couple aunts that are new to FB that accidentally share random images. It was a little funny at first, but after sharing pictures and albums my DH posted of me and DD, I'm no longer laughing! Those were supposed to be private! Argh!

Now I'm not sure what to do. Do I limit their privacy settings (is that even available anymore)? Or just delete the pictures shared (will it even delete it on their page)? Send them a quick msg?

How do you deal with this?
