The amino came back that the baby was completely healthy, but the NIPT results really took a huge toll on us. We 100% would have had additional testing before doing anything. She kept saying to us "if the results come back as high risk, please do not run out and get an abortion". Seems odd that the doctor had to call them back to tell them to hold off on the abortion instead of saying it up front when delivering the results. Also, even if my doctor was not up front, I would be a person to take a little time to look into everything, possibly get a second opinion, before making such a final decision. Just risk numbers! My husband and I absolutely just viewed the prescreening as additional knowledge. I did the Harmony test which came back fine, but if I got a high risk marker I would definitely do more testing before making any decisions. my doctors set that expectation up front as well. </p>
