i have acid reflux in general, when i'm not pregnant. i usually take pepcid, which works wonders, but now i'm pregnant, i use tums, which usually helps...until you eat again, and then the acid comes back. with pepcid, it doesn't do that. one trick i learned is when you are lying down, lie on your left side. if you think of your stomach as an L - your esophagus is the vertical part and your stomach is the horizontal line. your stomach bends to the left, it helps the acid stay in the stomach when you lie on your left and not go up your esophagus. If you lie on your right side, it makes it easy for the stomach acid to go up. i didn't explain it well and i could be completely medically incorrect, but i find that it works for me. greasy food exacerbates it, and certain things like tomatoes are bad...but it varies for everyone.

Mine started at 13 weeks...and continues especially after eating dairy (but sometimes I have it without eating dairy). Tums has been a godsend and it works super quick!

I'm about 13 wks and have recently felt tight chest pains which I think are related to acid reflux/heart burn.

It makes it really hard to breathe and uncomfortable to lay down.

Did you have these symptoms? How did you deal with it? How long did it last?
