Always have. So that may take off any additional residue, through I've not noticed anything different than before I started with the black soap. I also don't use foundation or waterproof mascara so I can't comment on that. It's antifungal and antibacterial. I like using that on my face. It can sting a bit and if you were to try it don't over use because it can burn/irritate your skin.
