Interesting reading these responses, and a bit scary!! This LO so far is SO active- I feel like he is constantly moving, doing karate kicks, etc.

My DS was very active in the womb and continues to be very active outside of it! As a toddler he's a very focussed person, but I certainly wouldn't describe him as laid back!

My first kid was pretty active in the womb and pretty active outside...

My second kid was not active at all... it was tough to do a kick count with him... but he is super active outside the womb and I would say even more active than my first kid.

They are both boys.

@Caly: Glad you posted. I was wondering if other twin moms noticed a difference. Two weeks ago, baby girl (baby A) was on my right and baby boy on my left. We definitely feel like baby girl is way more active than baby boy. DH felt baby girl's movement and baby boy took a few days before I felt movement. Baby boy is definitely more calm. DH has some OCD tendencies and I feel like baby girl is like that. She will punch/kick me over and over again. It's like a pattern or something. Baby boy will kick once and I would not know when he would kick again.

Next week, I need to ask the OB how much the baby and their sacs will move. Right now, they are in the left and right position, but I wonder if they'll move into a top and bottom position.

I'm really curious if baby girl will be that active when she is born and the boy very calm.

Oh, I also need to ask the OB where baby boy's placenta is. Maybe that's why I don't feel him as much.

crazy crazy crazy partier both in and out, haha! inside, it would take FOREVER to check the doppler because she never sat still. and i never had to do kick counts because i never went more than an hour without feeling her. but i will say i would also describe her as a laid back baby on the outside. because she has a very easy temperament. she moves around a ton physically, but she very rarely cries or fusses.

I joked around that my LO took up kickboxing as a hobby in my belly.

When he was a newborn, everyone commented on how much he waved his arms and legs.

Now that he is a toddler, everyone comments on how he never, ever sits (unless he is reading a book). Sometimes he will just run around yelling "go, go, go!"

The US tech for #2 commented on how active baby was. Lord have mercy on my soul. Though this guy seems to just squirm more than kick.

Insanely active in the womb... like alien style rolling, punching, kicking... I have videos of my whole belly moving! Outside, he is incredibly laid back. Don't get me wrong, he loves to stand and walk assisted and do things, but he is also content to sit and observe.

At the NT scan we dubbed him squirmy. He was going nuts in there and has continued being totally physical on the outside. He's only happy when he's moving! It made the newborn days really hard (read: impossible) but he's having so much fun now at 11 months!

True for me! My baby boy was pretty wild in my belly, and he is super active on the outside too! The only time I'm not chasing him around is during nap time. I love that he's so strong and that he likes to explore, but man is it exhausting! :P

Dd was a huge hiccuper in utero and still is at 4 weeks! Like, hiccups multiple times a day still. Otherwise she was pretty chill in the womb. She is kinda low key now I guess, unless she is hungry. But she is always hungry....

@Weagle: People tell me K is as active, or more active than a boy!

She was pretty active in the womb, but SUPER crazy active outside the womb! Since Day 1 - tried to hold her head up and everyone has always commented how strong she is. Oh! And she was ALWAYS jabbing one side of my ribcage so hard, and she always has to have a foot or leg hanging out or over her car seat/stroller, pushing the tray on the highchair, always kicking.

He was pretty active in the womb--always shifting around (but didn't have a lot of space...) He's always been gogogo on the outside as well, even in his sleep (SUCH a restless sleeper, always moving around and changing position). Hit all of his physical milestones early and just always wants to be moving.

My first (a boy) was a party baby... seriously every night from 10pm til 5am it was party time. I was nocturnal. But he was not active much at all, especially for a boy. He didn't crawl until past 9 months and he didn't walk til 15 months. He was always happy to chill in the stroller but did not like to be worn.

My second (a girl) didn't move much and she is crazy active. She doesn't like to be strapped into anything and she is constantly climbing and rolling over things. She has NEVER seriously bumped her head once. She is like a tank of muscle and is seriously coordinated. When she falls, she keeps her head up and rolls to her side. I think she may end up being the first girl in the NFL.

YES.

she was such an active baby in the womb - from 20 weeks on, all I could feel were kicks, punches, tickles, etc all day long. It's like girlfriend never sat still. And even when she was born, she was the exact same
Way.

She's constantly moving her legs while she's sitting. Ppl would always comment on how she couldn't seem to sit still. And now as a toddler, she runs around everywhere. She's always hated the stroller and prefers to run/walk/climb on everything.
