I filled the living room with inflated balloons, pushed the furniture aside, turned on music and let the kids play. This was a huge hit and kept them entertained for hours. We also had pumpkin painting outside (October birthday) with the expectation that it would be a drippy mess, and a big rice bin full of orange lentils and small pumpkin themed toys for sensory play. I would have rented a bounce house if our yard could accommodate one.
