I'm convinced it helped me conceive before we moved onto IVF. My acupuncturist says that acu does help with labor but she recommends acupressure more as most women want to move during labor and it is hard to with needles in your body. I didn't use it during labor (although I should have since my mom is an acupuncturist!) She did poke me with needles about 6 hours before I went into labor. :) </p> https://boards.hellobee.com/topic/acupuncture-and-labor#post-36807 Mon, 19 Dec 2011 08:38:17 +0000 Mrs. Sunglasses 36807@https://boards.hellobee.com/ <p>Last week I had my second Acupuncture appointment (for my back) and I was having a discussion with my therapist about acupuncture and birth. </p> <p>Sure I knew people used acupuncture for fertility treatments and to provoke labor (when you are past your due date) but she also told me that some acupuncturist are available to be in the labor room with you if you don't want to use meds.</p> <p>Meaning, if labor slows down, they can use their needles so it picks right back up, and they can also trigger some pain relieving points (so make labor less painful, instead of taking an epidural)</p> <p>Has anyone tried this? I am beyond curious and really am going to look into this. </p>
