@lioneyes: I have read that some O late and others early... I think acupuncture can help move it to where it "should be" for you. I o'ed late and got pregnant, so I wonder if I was o'ing too early before.

So I just left my first "acupuncture specifically for TTC" session (I have been going for anxiety/back pain for 6+ months, this was the first time I laid on my back/got needles in my stomach/face/feet). I have longer cycles (32-33 days) and usually ovulate on CD 18/19- cycles are longer, but are extremely regular with a 14 day LP, and this was also the case when TTC-ing DS1. Do you think this will continue OR do you think the acupuncture specifically for a fertility boost will shorten my cycle/cause me to O earlier? It just occurred to me, so that's why I didn't ask the acupuncturist!

Will start tracking with Wondfo's today (CD10 just in case).

@crazydoglady: can i pick your brain a bit?
Did they find you weren't ovulating and that's why you tried Femara? I'm trying to avoid freaking out and getting a bunch of tests done since I think it will just stress me out more but seems like perhaps you needed that extra push to get pregnant

@Shantuck: Yes! I am not sure if it was the ubiquinol, the fact that I started femara at CD 6 instead of 5, or the acupuncture but I ovulated CD 17. I usually ovulate CD 14ish.

@crazydoglady: Just curious - can I ask whether you ovulated a couple days later than usual while on the ubiquinol? I started to ovulate maybe 2-4 days later after I started the ubiquinol but never knew if that was why. Just curious if you had the same experience.

I had multiple miscarriages and started seeing an acupuncturist for unrelated back pain. She actually specialized in fertility and helped women get pregnant who couldn't through ivf. While I was getting treatment for back pain, I got pregnant! I continued to see her to prevent miscarriage, and I had a successful pregnancy.

I am a huge believer in acupuncture. I had migraines for years that medication couldn't solve but acupuncture did. And then when I was seeing an acupuncturist for an unrelated issue, I had a successful pregnancy for the first time!

For my first, we had been ntnp for a long time, over a year. We started actively ttc and I got pregnant the 2ns cycle while receiving acupuncture for sleep help.
My second I got pregnant right away with no acupuncture.
My third, I was Ttc for 9 months. I went to accupinctire twice to try and help and got pregnant that month.
So I’m not sure if it was related, but I think it might have been?

@crazydoglady obvs tell them you are TTC-ing so they place the needles accordingly; she also said for infertility (versus just fertility support) she would see someone weekly. But I think this is a great place to start! Good luck!

I did not do it when TTC-ing DS, but we are going to start TTC-ing our 2nd in the new year and I just spoke to my acupuncturist today about a plan (have been seeing her for 6 months for anxiety/stress/back pain). She said to start taking vitamin D and I should see her the week after my period but before ovulation, so I am booked for that week in January and we shall see! Either way it def helps me feel more relaxed and balanced and is something nice I do for myself (and my insurance is going to start covering it in 2018.)

When we were first ttc last year I started to panic after 4 months (silly, I know). I went to acupuncture the next month and was pregnant after the 2nd session. It was probably a coincidence, but I like to think it helped.

Since our loss though I've been going to an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility and have not had luck, though we recently discovered some other issues that were most likely preventing us from conceiving. I do think acupuncture can help, especially if you are undergoing fertility treatments, but also for trying naturally. I think it's worth a shot!

@crazydoglady: I started doing acupuncture after about 6 months TTC and nada... I think it definitely helped my stress levels - no doubt. I did get pregnant after about 10 months TTC and perhaps acupuncture helped?? I had also decided, OK - maybe lets wait, and started interviewing for jobs across the country - and of course, that's when we got preggo.

I went after my MC and before getting pregnant with DS1. I think it really helped my body find it's balance again. I got pregnant the second month we tried.

It was game changing for me morning sickness for both my pregnancies. And also super helpful at the end for comfort.

I really loved it.

@crazydoglady: I began acupuncture following two back to back miscarriages. It was at a fertility acupuncture clinic so the practitioner knew exactly where to place the needles for my purpose of getting and staying pregnant. I became pregnant a couple months after starting and now have my little angel rainbow, aged 19 months.

Its hard to know if the acupuncture played a role in that pregnancy making it to full term, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

@crazydoglady: I took 600 mg (so three 200 mg pills each morning). I stopped a few days before my positive test because I had run out. I had two losses during the 14 month period that I was trying to conceive my second but both those losses and my final successful pregnancy were months I was taking the ubiquinol (the months with the losses I only took it a week or so). The other 11 months I did not take it or took only 200 mg and did not end up pregnant. It just seemed like too strange of a coincidence to not be related. Good luck! :goodluck:

@crazydoglady: I got pregnant the first cycle I tried at 32 but then spent 14 months when I was 35 trying to get pregnant with kid #2. I'm now 38 and newly pregnant and it happened quickly. I think the link you sent was for ubiquinone rather than ubiquinol. This is what I took... https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-QH-Absorb-Absorption-Stability/dp/B004VCOOWS/ref=sr_1_3_a_f_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1512501784&sr=8-3&ppw=fresh&keywords=jarrow%2Bubiquinol&th=1. Basically, it gives your eggs more energy to do what they need to do. Obviously, this doesn't cure every single fertility issue but it might be worth a try if you can't pinpoint any other reason why.

@Shantuck: Thanks for the info! Is this the same thing? I took it during my last medicated cycle. Sorry for the long link. I just turned 33 but I got pregnant REALLY easily three times about 3 years ago...so something has obviously changed. I'm a little confused by what is being recommended in the link you posted. I'm willing to try it!

I did acupuncture and if nothing else, it helped me cope through a very difficult period in my life. What I ultimately attribute now two pregnancies to was taking ubiquinol (the reduced form of CoQ10) at a dosage of 600mg per day, which I started at the recommendation of my acupuncturist when trying to conceive my 2nd (for my current pregnancy, I just went right back to the ubiquinol without the acupuncture this time and got pregnant very quickly). This might be worth a read even if you aren't over 35: http://www.paleo-mama.com/which-coq10-is-best-for-fertility-ubiquinol-or-ubiquinone/.

I did and am not sure it helped with fertility, as I was doing it for awhile with no luck. However, I am more confident that it helped my cycle to normalize very quickly after losses, which meant we could get back to trying again faster. If we TTC again, I will hopefully go back to doing it, as it was not that expensive (I went to a group place where it was $15 per session) and while I'm not for sure it helped, it may have...
