I did and it was intense! It involved lighting small sticks on fire and lining them along my belly to "show the baby the way out." I went into labor the next morning at 40 weeks 6 days.

I never did acupuncture to induce labor but I loved acupuncture as stress relief when non-Preggo.

Hopefully it gets things moving for you but even if not I think you'll feel relaxed from it.

And I didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

I had 3-4 acupuncture sessions around 40-41 weeks - it didn't induce labor for me but it was at least relaxing and I got a few naps in!

I had the same experience as @Mrs. Champagne: Ended up with baby born on my due date.

They told me they liked to do it every two days. They put them in your feet, ankles, hands, neck and face. At points it was kind of uncomfortable but not too bad. I had my second appt on thursday and went in to labour friday morning.

@Mrs. Oatmeal: I went! I went once around 38.5 weeks and then once just over 39 weeks. I had a quick delivery 3 days later.

I'm 40 weeks pregnant either today or Sunday (depending who you ask), and my naturopath mentioned that after 40 weeks, she will start doing acupuncture to get labour started. Has anyone tried this? Did it work? What should I be expecting?

I've never had acupuncture before, but I trust this doctor immensely, and my midwives are on board with me going as well.
