I know there was a post on the blog with a link to a site that said it was okay to add freshly pumped milk to refrigerated milk--but both KellyMom and the Mayo Clinic say that you should only combine pumping sessions once you cool down the freshly expressed milk in the fridge first. I go by the advice of the websites I trust more (I don't remember the link from the blog) but and I trust both of those websites, especially KellyMom.

I believe it's ok, as long as there is more cold milk in the container than warm milk you are adding. So if there's 2 oz of cold milk in a bottle in the fridge, you can add up to 2 oz of fresh, warm milk. If you chill the new milk you can mix it all once it's chilled.

That being said, I add almost a full bottle of warm milk to just a tiny bit of cold milk all the time and my babies have never had a problem.

I keep reading conflicting info. Is it ok to add freshly expressed milk to milk that has been in the fridge
