@pinkcupcake: my niece and nephews have had parties at Bounce houses before and it's not bad even though you don't get exclusive use. The only thing is I remember they booked parties pretty close together; this was Bounce U. so it felt like they move your group through the activities pretty fast. But, all the kids always have a ton of fun and that's what's important! :)

DD1 is turning 4 at the end of April. LOL 🙈 I'm a planner! DH and I talked some this morning and I think we're going with the zoo. She will LOVE it. And I hear they book up fast.

@regberadaisy: oh I know! So many options. And unfortunately our town doesn't have many party options :( our gymnastics places smell so bad, I couldn't stand it. The indoor bounce house I'm considering isn't bad but I heard it gets super crowded on the weekends and we don't get exclusive use of any area :( I'm also considering renting a room at our local Y - only drawback is I have to come up with my own games and stuff. My husband is getting tired of me asking him for his opinion and i don't wanna keep asking my friends ;)

She's turning 4 end of next month. What about you??

@pinkcupcake: ha! Same here. When is she turning 4?
There are SO many different options here that my head is swimming a little. Does yours include food for adults? The 15min is killing me! How is that even enough time to get settled, put up a banner, set the cake out?! What if guests are late/early!?

Our venue was all inclusive for the kids, but if we wanted food and beverages for adults, it was extra.

We paid for the cheapest package which came with 1.5 hours, two coaches, party room area, and paper goods. We brought juice, cupcakes, and goody bags.
There were other packages wth extra things and add ons. But for two year olds, this was the best package.

I've been doing tons of research on party venues (got her 4th coming up) and the totally all-inclusive indoor bouncy house here includes food (pizza), drinks, plates/napkins/silverware. All we have to supply are goodie bags (probably $5 per child?), cake, and if we want, decorations (but since they only give us 15 minutes to decorate, IDK how much we could do).

All the packages in my area don't include food so we usually spend 100-150 extra on food. This is for a about 40 people party.

@regberadaisy: Two. We got a credit for the ice cream cake we didn't use.

Looking back, and for next time (if my son even expresses interest in a party), I plan to basically stick to the package.

@regberadaisy: there was an icecream cake included, but we decided to get traditional cakes, and the second host wanted each kid to get their own cake, so I went along, lol.

@looch: that's a bit better. But I agree that is high considering the guest list is the same! I would've done separate cake too for a joint party. :)

@regberadaisy: party total. We went joint because the kids are in the same class, so the guest list was mostly shared.

My son had his first party this year and it was extremely expensive, lol. It was a joint party and I think we were quoted something like $450 and we ended up paying about $650 in total (needed two cakes, additional decor that the second host decided upon, etc).

If it were me, I would have made do with what was in the package. We used evite for the invitations, the goodie bag items were included, as was an ice cream cake and activities. Where we spent more was to get 2 cakes, one for each kid, use different bags that what was provided for the goodie bag items, table decor, etc. I chose not to think about it, lol.

Our all inclusive place was truly all inclusive (invites, snacks, decor, activities, activity leader, favors). The only thing I had to provide was the cake, and I could have paid extra to have them organize it.

If you had your LO's birthday party at an outside venue where it's all inclusive. Did you end up spending any money on top of what you paid the party place?

Was it because it wasn't included in the party package? Or did you simply want to? What kind of items/things did you spend extra money on?
