Now that LO is older we love playing with the blankets. They are great for peek a boo (can easily see and breathe) and playing parachute.

I agree they are worth it. While some of the other brands might be decent I will buy the A&A ones because I know exactly what I am going to get and I don't think the price difference is usually enormous. Muslin blankets are just extremely versatile and because they are so light they are super easy to pack.

I have two, and I think it is not worth it. DS never liked to be swaddled, and if he did, I would have used a velcro swaddle. DS was always cold when he was of a swaddling age, even though it was summer in a warm climate. My travel system's sunshade completely covered DS, so I did not use them for that. I can use it as a burp cloth or to put on the floor, but there are much less expensive options. I don't get the appeal other than to use for swaddling, especially for the price.

I love them and all AA products. I think @hilsy85: summed it up best.

My son is 3 and he still uses his. My 4 month old got her own set  my son's set is from target and my daughter's is the normal AA line. The normal ones are definitely of higher quality and are larger than the Target ones. I also always give them as a baby shower gift. I've told new moms about them an insisted on buying AA's for them instead of regular receiving blankets (and they all thanked me for it).

I think we were able to get a better swaddle using the A&A blankets than using the SwaddleMe blankets. We used them a lot the first 9 months. Not so much since then. I'm glad we got a set, but I don't think we would have needed more than 1 set.

I love ours, we have the 8 smaller ones (the 4 packs) We swaddled with them, used them as burp cloths, and now they are her blankies/lovies. I love them so much it is my go to gift for expectant friends. I really want to get some of the bamboo ones, I got them for SIL and they are soooo soft.

And they are the only blanket I have ever felt comfortable with in the crib, they are very breathable.

I am meh on them because we didn't use them for swaddling much. They are awesome for swaddling & I have never seen big, thin, stretchy muslin blankets like those other than A&A. So if you plan on "manually" swaddling they are worth it. We used velcro swaddles so they were nice to have but didn't get a ton of use.

The bamboo ones are super soft & not as good for swaddling but awesome just as a light blanket. They are thin & breathable so I don't worry about them being in the crib with her. I would say those are more worth it as general blankets.

I thought they were pointless before I bought a pack on super sale to see what the fuss was about. I LOVE them. They aren't too thick and bulky, they are large which is great for swaddling, throwing over a car seat, laying out for baby and especially nursing. A now uses hers as lovies.

Love love love our A&A swaddle blankets! They're big and stretchy, so they make great swaddle blankets! Plus they're very breathable. We have 8 because Xander has adopted them as his lovey. He loves snuggling up to them! Plus they made great coverups when nursing.

Ditto @hilsy85: @Seattlemom:

We registered for them, I bought a set, and received more than requested (I think we have like 13?) I think we would have been fine with just 1-2 sets. Definitely prefer the bamboo ones. We had some cheaper ones and smaller ones, and those definitely don't get used besides swaddling a teeny tiny newborn. I say the size really matters, but I have seen some other brands with the big size now too. The smaller ones don't cover the car seat or stroller. The cheaper ones don't feel as soft. Not a necessity, but a REALLY nice to have. My go-to shower gift now!

I love them because they're super soft, lightweight, large, cute and versatile. I keep one in my diaper bag always and have used it as stroller sun shade, burp cloth, nursing cover, blanket....the list goes on. I was able to buy both my sets on sale though.

i love how big they are. i never used them for swaddling because i didn;t know about them then. but i often used them like a canopy when he was napping in the car seat-stroller travel system. they also fold up small and are easy to take anywhere and can serve as a bf cover, a blanket when it is chilly - they provide good coverage because so big.

I love them! We tried using them for swaddling but they wouldn't contain our little Houdini. We had a summer baby and they're great because they're so lightweight and breathable. They're also ridiculously soft. All that being said, I still don't consider these a necessity. But if you're going to spend the money definitely go for the bigger ones on Amazon.

I can't compare to swaddling with other blankets because we pretty much just used these. But all of the "other" uses (sun shade, blanket, etc) you can do with any blanket.
