While some of the other brands might be decent I will buy the A&amp;A ones because I know exactly what I am going to get and I don't think the price difference is usually enormous. DS never liked to be swaddled, and if he did, I would have used a velcro swaddle. DS was always cold when he was of a swaddling age, even though it was summer in a warm climate. My travel system's sunshade completely covered DS, so I did not use them for that. I can use it as a burp cloth or to put on the floor, but there are much less expensive options. I think @hilsy85: summed it up best. </p> <p>My son is 3 and he still uses his. My 4 month old got her own set :happy: my son's set is from target and my daughter's is the normal AA line. The normal ones are definitely of higher quality and are larger than the Target ones. I also always give them as a baby shower gift. We used them a lot the first 9 months. Not so much since then. I love them so much it is my go to gift for expectant friends. They are awesome for swaddling &amp; I have never seen big, thin, stretchy muslin blankets like those other than A&amp;A. So if you plan on "manually" swaddling they are worth it. We used velcro swaddles so they were nice to have but didn't get a ton of use. </p> <p>The bamboo ones are super soft &amp; not as good for swaddling but awesome just as a light blanket. They are thin &amp; breathable so I don't worry about them being in the crib with her. I've already packed some away to keep them "new" for next baby. I love them because they're super soft, lightweight, large, cute and versatile. I keep one in my diaper bag always and have used it as stroller sun shade, burp cloth, nursing cover, blanket....the list goes on. All that being said, I still don't consider these a necessity.
