I think getting yourself together that day-- blow drying your hair, maybe VERY light makeup, makes sense. I know I feel better when I do those things even on crappy days. Ignoring your doctor's advice to go with a c-section... um, maybe that's not the best advice. </p> <p>I haven't had too much advice yet- only 26 weeks-- but one person did tell me how important it is to have the midwife massage the perineum or something... I haven't gotten that far in my birthing books to I'm pretending it's not a thing yet, but will keep it in mind. But when my contractions started at 6:45am, I got in the shower and got ready for the day because I figured it'd be my last time being able to enjoy blow drying my hair and doing my makeup for a while! Everyone thought I was nuts and told me later that it didn't matter. Lol! I think I might put on some concealer and waterproof mascara!</p> <p>My MIL wants me to skip my scheduled C-section and do it naturally because she thinks I am setting my daughters up for birthing failure in the future. I ignored her.</p> <p>Did you get a lot of advice before childbirth? </p>
