Ha-- I like your mom's advice a lot better! I think getting yourself together that day-- blow drying your hair, maybe VERY light makeup, makes sense. I know I feel better when I do those things even on crappy days. Ignoring your doctor's advice to go with a c-section... um, maybe that's not the best advice.

I haven't had too much advice yet- only 26 weeks-- but one person did tell me how important it is to have the midwife massage the perineum or something... I haven't gotten that far in my birthing books to I'm pretending it's not a thing yet, but will keep it in mind. She did have a pretty big baby without tearing.

Lol, no. I think everyone was so stunned I was planning an hbac that they were at a loss for words! bahaha.

I did get 2 people (both in a women's health office that were clients of ours) that erc were the "recommendation", but they quickly retracted & didn't say anything else once I showed them the ACTUAL recommendation. lol

I take birth advice with a grain of salt & rely much more on the evidence!

I actually didn't get that much advice before childbirth. But when my contractions started at 6:45am, I got in the shower and got ready for the day because I figured it'd be my last time being able to enjoy blow drying my hair and doing my makeup for a while! Everyone thought I was nuts and told me later that it didn't matter. It made me feel better though and it gave me something to do to pass the time.

I've received some awesome advice from my family....

My mom wants me to take some time and do my hair and makeup so I don't look like a wreck in my first pictures with baby. Lol! I think I might put on some concealer and waterproof mascara!

My MIL wants me to skip my scheduled C-section and do it naturally because she thinks I am setting my daughters up for birthing failure in the future. I ignored her.

Did you get a lot of advice before childbirth?
