I'd either suck it up and bring mine, or buy one through Amazon and have it shipped there. Both of my kids were too young at 7 months to not sleep in a PnP.

I agree with the others that you need one. If the rental place cannot provide one (definitely ask, but often they charge like $20 a day) id buy one on Amazon. You can get a very basic one for under $50.

It's not worth potentially ruining your vacation over the $50, and if your LO won't sleep, you won't have a good time!

we've always brought our travel crib (lotus) when we traveled with our babe before she moved to a real bed. when we flew to hawaii, we stayed in a hotel that had a crib available. i would think you would need some form of travel crib if your baby sleeps in a crib normally.

I agree to!

We traveled overseas at 8 months and brought along the pack n play. We mostly stayed at the Inlaws but traveled throughout the country staying in hotels, condos, and other family members homes. With all the instability in sleeping arrangements, it was great to have the p&p and she slept well in it.

I also invested in the mammadoo play hard mattress and the thickness made it feel like her own crib. We still use it in her play room and when our 2nd is born, they will use it in the p&p.

Yeah, I agree with the PPs. At 7 months with a baby that sleeps in their crib at home I think you're going to need a PnP. For us, DS doesn't really get that it's sleep time unless he's in a confined space like a crib or PnP, so I would worry that trying to go without one would cause MAJOR sleep disruptions. You could check and see if there are any baby gear rental companies in the area, but it might be cheaper to just buy a PnP when you get there or have one shipped to your rental.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'd find a way to have a PnP. By 7 months, our little one was crawling, and there's no way we could have left her in a room alone ... Not sure what destination you're going to (if you know anyone there), but maybe you could borrow a PnP?

Most places might have a PnP to borrow if you call ahead of time.

How active is your LO? Before DD1 started crawling/rolling, we took a trip and put her on the queen-sized bed next to us, surrounded by pillows to keep her from falling off. It worked perfectly. But, if your LO is more mobile, then can you set up a little bed/cot on the floor with a bunch of blankets and pillows?

If you're using something like VRBO and AirBNB, I would check to see if certain rentals come with a PNP. There's a "kid-friendly" filter on VRBO and that might narrow it down. Or if you find a place you would really love to rent, I might contact the owner and ask if you can have a PNP shipped there and leave it behind for them to use for future renters (or if they would be willing to order one for themselves and charge you the cost or something). They're only like $40 on Amazon, which is cheaper than what you would pay to check it on the plane to and from the destination.

You can get a pack n play for $60, what about shipping a new one to the house where you are staying? If you really don't want to bring/check the one you already have...I don't think I would feel comfortable with a 7 month old on a double bed in a room by themselves, and we never co slept with our LO, although that could be another option.

DH and I are planning a 4 day getaway in October and our LO will be 7 months old by then. We will be taking a short flight and plan to stay in a private 2 bedroom rental. We have a Pack n play but would like to avoid bringing it if possible because it's so bulky. Our LO pretty much exclusively naps in his crib at home so I'm just trying to come up with options for where to put him to sleep at night and for naps. Anyone have any suggestions for something small I can take with me or a way to have him safely sleep in the double bed in the other room (if that's even possible?) Thanks ladies!
