Does that make sense. But I've gotten some pretty nasty cuts! So I tend to hold his hand. It seems like he goes through phases with it. Sometimes, I prop him up on the boppy with one arm underneath him and let him hold my hands since that hurts less. Their nails turn to razor sharp talons while eating! I'm giving them these soft lovey blanket things to clutch and that helps a little. Sometimes I also treat it like biting (they don't have teeth, but how I imagine I'll deal with biting once they do) and say "we don't scratch mommy while eating" and stop nursing. He's started pinching and scratching my breasts and sometimes even my nipple while nursing, and it really hurts! Tell me this is normal but passes quickly! And tell me how to make it stop! </p>
