DD really took to WCM. She like straw cups and bottles. She never asked I was always the one to offer. But she started rufusing towards the end. We only made it a few days past 1. Our last session dropped was the morning. Way to make it this far and congrats on the newest babe.

I went away to a conference for four days when she was 16 months. When I came back I didn't offer, and I distracted her with milk and a snack if she asked. The first three days she asked a few times, but was fairly easily distracted. After that, she had another 3 days of halfheartedly asking but not really caring, and after that it was like she didn't even remember she had ever nursed. (She had been nursing 4+ times a day before I left for my trip)

I was in a similar situation when pregnant with #3. I cut out feeds 2-3 weeks at a time. Started with not offering and not refusing. Also had to stay away from usual nursing spots like the couch or certain chairs. I took her out more during the day to tire her out before naps and offered milk and water in straw cups more regularly. She completely weaned when I was about 16 weeks .

Does she nurse on a schedule or on demand? I dropped one nursing session at a time and replaced it with a cup of milk or a snack. I dropped a session about every 2 weeks and saved the one before bed for last. It went really well. There was a few times where she was very persistent in asking and would get upset when I said no. I just remained firm and she did get over it. She wasn't phased at all when I dropped the last session and has been fully weaned for about 3 weeks. I'm also pregnant and didn't want to nurse during my pregnancy.

@Willow: I would start but only nursing when she asks and never initiate. And when she does ask, try to put her off a little bit and see if she forgets. "Like not right now, in a minute." If you can get it to just morning, nap, and bedtime, then go by easiest to phase out first. Like for me, I would quit bedtime by having dh totally take over (in my dreams lol).

I slowly started cutting out nursing sessions, but I think my girls were ready so maybe that made it easier?

My daughter is 15 months and still nurses 3-4 times/day. She's been EBF and never took a bottle, despite some attempts.
She enjoys nursing and really likes to follow a routine, so I'm not sure how to go about weaning. Gradually or just stop completely one day? I'm 5.5 weeks pregnant, and I don't want to continue nursing through the pregnancy.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated!
