@swedishfish: So glad you saw a heartbeat. I've had several friends who had bleeding throughout the first trimester and they have healthy babies. I, on the other hand, had absolutely no signs of a m/c, yet there was no heartbeat at my 9 week ultrasound. I know it's SO hard not to worry though.

Also, measuring behind is usually not a huge deal this early. I was a mess because of my previous m/c and at 6w 4d, he was measuring 6w 1d. By 8 weeks, he had caught up and was actually measuring ahead.

Hugs :heart: Hoping so hard for a sticky baby for you!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @swedishfish: I agree. I've had two losses with no bleeding and now this one with tons of bleeding seems to be going ok.

@swedishfish: they are, aren't they?

I had an uktrasound today because of another bleeding episode. This story brought me some comfort:

The ultrasound tech said she has delivered absolutely devastating news to women who had no phsyical symptoms of there being a problem. And, about ten years ago she did a vaginally u/a on a woman who was bleeding so badly the blood was puddling on the floor during the u/s. She went on to have healthy triplet boys, who are now ten years old.

It's morbid but gave me a great reminder that in pregnancy, nothing is normal.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: no, the OB's machines are horrible compared to the RE's ultrasound machines. If my levels rise appropriately I'll ask the NP to measure the SCH next Monday.

@swedishfish: I measured 3 days behind what I thought was latest possible O date at my first ultrasound. Yay for heartbeat! I bled a lot the first tri, it's such a stress, but doesn't have to mean the worst!

@swedishfish: he said there aren't great study's to show that bed rest actually helps. But for the first few weeks he asked me not to exercise if possible. For me I still did errands like grocery shopping but I didn't walk for exercise and tried to take it as easy as I could.

Now that I'm 13 weeks and out of the first tie unfortunately the SCH has not resolved but he did clear me for light walking and some light yoga. He just said now to just stay hydrated and stop if I feel any cramping.

@T.H.O.U.: did your OB say anything about exercising? I walk 3 miles a day usually. I only did 1.5 miles today and I'm skipping my night session to relax.

@swedishfish: Great update!

FYI - With my SCH, the OB said that bed rest probably wasn't necessary but any heavy lifting or pelvic activity (anything that could irritate the cervix or cause contractions) should be avoided. I'm not sure if they gave you any of this advice but hopefully you get lots of rest!

Out of curiosity, did you have a blood test done at all or do they already know your blood type and that you're not Rh-Negative? When I had bleeding at 7 weeks, it was important that I get the Rhogam shot since I have Rh-Negative blood. Just want to make sure that's not an issue for you!

@swedishfish: Seeing the heartbeat is a great first step! Are you sure on your O dates? If not, then the date discrepancy is nothing to be worried about. Also, measuring a few days behind that early isn't a big deal, I think I measured about 4 days behind and all is well. Hoping the best for you :)

So I had an ultrasound today. I thought I was 7 weeks 1 day along but baby is measuring 6 weeks 3 days. We did see a heartbeat but there's a sub chorionic bleed. The NP said she can't tell whether or not the pregnancy will progress so I had another beta done today. I'll get more blood drawn on Wednesday to see if my levels are still increasing.
