I wanted my sister to go through this IVF process with a clear mind, no stress and full of hope. </p> <p>We live in separate states, but we flew home for Thanksgiving - and she found out the results the day before Thanksgiving.</p> <p>She's pregnant! I'm pregnant! Things couldn't have turned out better. That way if IVF does fail, you won't have to tell her you are pregnant around the same time she's fiding out she will never be able to have kids. If she knows for awhile before finding out failure/success of IVF she would have gotten used to the idea of you being pregnant. I've never been in a situation like this at all, from either end, but one thing to consider that hasn't been mentioned is will she feel like you were keeping it from her if you don't tell her for a few months? If I were her and I found out that you'd been keeping that good news from me for fear of hurting me, I think I might feel conflicted and a little upset about that (among all the things I was upset about). After reading the other responses, I would tend to agree with telling her after. It will be hard news for her to hear either way if her IVF is not successful and hard whether it is a couple of weeks after her IVF or even a couple of months. Might as well not add to her (likely already complicated) emotions while she's going through the treatment. good luck. </p>
