@BabyBoecksMom: My LO had short naps but would have longer stretches at night. But you are saying your LO goes all day and night, only sleeping in 1 hour stretches? That hasn't happened to me personally, but I wouldn't say it is not "normal" since there really is no "normal" when it comes to babies.

So I take it that this isn't a normal stage for a baby to go through...

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm going out today to get a white noise machine and I'm going to order the DVD.

She actually did sleep for 3 hours last night, but is back to her 1 hour "naps" this morning. *sigh*

You poor thing, I have nothing new to add except that you can rent the DVD on Netflix if you have a subscription.

Poor you, I bet you're exhausted, too! Have you tried to see of she enjoyed spending time in a swing or bouncer? My LO always loved snoozing in his swing.

I second the 5 Ss, as well as making sure she is full... the fuller they are, the longer they sleep, I find.

And I also second the white noise!

Is she getting enough to eat? Jk you said you've tried feeding.. :T Would definitely try what mr bee suggested. Also, we had a fan running in LO's room. The white noise really helped.
Good luck!!

@BabyBoecksMom: It's definitely amazing! If you aren't up for reading, there's a DVD version that is great. :)

One of the Ss refers to shushing... the book talks about how you can get a similar effect sometimes from loud appliances, like a blow drier or a vacuum cleaner! We use a white noise machine...

@mrbee: No :-( I've heard of them but never looked into it. I'm thinking I'll need to take a look into that before I completely lose my mind?

My LO is now 3 weeks old and had slept about 3 hours at a time since she was born.. But the past couple of days, she hasn't slept more than 30 min - 1 hr at a time. You can tell she's exhausted, but she keeps fighting sleep. I've tried swaddling, rocking, feeding, walking, letting her be... and any combination of those, but nothing makes a difference. Is this normal?? Is there something I should be doing to help her sleep??
