I think dd just started accepting them when a) we started putting them on only because of a pair of her shoes, and she likes going out so she maybe thinks socks = going outside? and b) we bought socks that fit (2t at ~11 months?) and were thick and tight..they just looked more comfy.

I don't know if there's anything you can do to make them stop taking them off though. Maybe as it gets colder there will be more incentive...

@autumnlove: The car is the worst! She likes to hand me her socks and shoes when I open her car door. Um... thanks!

It is such a struggle....she takes off her socks and shoes as soon as she sits down in her carseat! 22 months!

@fancyfunction: Same here! My kid is obsessed with pulling at the velcro. Maybe M is destined to be a flip-flop girl like her mom :)

I'm having this issue too! She will also take any shoes off and then go for the socks!. I think I need to get baby shoes with snaps/button. I think these would be the only kind she wouldn't be able to take off. I only put shoes on her when we go outside - it's cold and I want to protect her feet. :)

Thanks ladies!

@MsMini: Yeah, it's so hard at home! I hate to have her in shoes all the time, but her little bare feet feel so cold :(

@travelingnanny: Those look so cozy! I'm not super worried about it, but she definitely doesn't understand that socks keep her feet warm and I can only keep my house so warm!

Maybe you could try slippers. We used these with the baby- http://www.amazon.com/Zutano-Newborn-Unisex-Baby-Fleece-Bootie/dp/B004ARQO1I/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1382923451&sr=8-4&keywords=baby+slippers

That said, I wouldn't worry about it too much about it.

The only thing that works here is immediately putting shoes over the socks. We have given up on socks at home ...

following! i have the same problem! i am going to start looking at putting shoes/boots on more regularly and see if that helps. i will have to soon when we go outside anyway.

It's getting cold and M's favorite game is to take her socks off the second I put them on. Any advice or should I start duct-taping them on?
