My son's head was a bit flat on the side he preferred, so I asked the doc at our 6 month WBV. He assured me it would round out once our son was better at moving around, and it did.

I also put him to sleep on his side with a rolled and tied blanket behind his back. He loved that position!

@enjollah: that's the only way my LO would sleep his first month! My husband slept holding him on his chest, or in the rocking chair cause I couldn't hold him and sleep.

@miss-spunkin: I will turn his head side to side but he"ll turn right back. I did start holding him while napping.... And even last night after his 4am feed! I propped 3 pillows behind me and we fell asleep together with him on my chest. I think that's what I'm going to have to do for now..

@enjollah: We didn't let him sleep on it overnight because he wouldn't be supervised. I just made sure we switched sides often. And we started letting him sleep on his tummy at around 3 months.

We also switched Wagon Jr. frequently and were pretty vigilant about which side his head was facing during his naps and sleep. I think we actually kept track! We used positioners with airflow. When he was able to flip he actually became a tummy sleeper and his head is a great shape now.

@miss-spunkin:
That's what my mom did with all my nieces and nephews. Switched frequently, back, side, alternate side. Their heads turned out great!

I would avoid having him sleep on his stomach yet, he's still so little.
My LO sleeps with his head to the side, either or side, so we haven't had any problems thus far.
Do you ever hold him during naps? My LO is about 7 weeks old, and for all his naps he's been exclusively held by someone, so that's probably a big factor too.

I used this a lot:

I used it anytime he was on his back and was being supervised. I had an extra one on his changing table too.

My LO is 7 weeks old and for naps and bedtime, I'll swaddle and put him down on his back. I will always rotate him in his crib and have even placed a rolled up blanket behind him to tilt him slightly on his side. nevertheless, my LO's head is a bit flatter on his left side. He can't roll over yet and my mom's advice is to have him sleep on his stomach. He is pretty good with tummy time but I'm still hesitant to have him sleep on his stomach. Any advice?
