@mrsaudi: he might lose his paci because he'll probably cry. :(

so a lovey is definitely a good thing for him to have so he can self-soothe. once your lo is sttn, it is the most glorious thing!

@Mrs. Bee: He doesn't really have a lovey, but does love his pacifier, I will definitely introduce something to him!

@mrsaudi: yup she always stood in the crib facing the front door. but she eventually would plop down. she'd just pass right out!

having a lovey was super important though. she held onto it the entire time. does your lo have a lovey? if not, now is a good time to introduce one. give it to him when you're feeding him, sleeping with him, etc so that he associates it with comfort.

@Mrs. Bee: Did Olive ever stand up and cry in the crib? I feel like this will be a problem for us. All he does in stand and cry in the crib and never lays himself back down.

i sleep trained olive at 13 months (which is like 12 months adjusted).

you can read about it here:

http://www.hellobee.com/2012/12/20/does-when-you-sleep-train-help-determine-success/

and here:

http://www.hellobee.com/2012/11/29/13-month-and-35-month-update/

I basically followed ferber and did the checks, but never needed to go in more than once. I also kept two feedings, but she dropped them both on her own pretty quickly.

do you have any specific questions?

We have been co sleeping for the sake of just trying to get some sleep. He will go down in his crib at first but only for like 1-2 hours then we have to rock him back to sleep and either put him back in crib or in bed with us.

I've been totally on board with co sleeping bc he sleeps so much better in bed with me and only would wake up once or twice for a bottle.

This week has been total hell, he just squirms and cries while in bed with me and doesn't know how to go back to sleep. I'm desperate here and want to give CIO another chance.

Has anyone had any experience on sleep training an 11-12 month old?

Sorry this post is all over the place, I could go on and on about his sleeping, but tried to give the major details.
