I really like the moby wrap. It takes a bit to get used to how to put it on, but it's very adjustable and lightweight. I find it very easy to do chores and cook while wearing it. I also use it when I go shopping sometimes - I just put it on at home and then get the little guy into it when I arrive.

A Babyhawk would be good for adjustability, but I find it to be a bit cumbersome (I hope it gets better as LO gets older!). I agree with pp that a WCMT would be good. Or, if you're not planning on wearing for long periods of time a RS or WCRS would be great. I love my Sleeping Baby Productions RS, and am looking into getting a WCRS from them soon.

I was the same size as you pre-preg and I bought a baby K'tan. I loved having it for around the house so I could do errands around the house while wearing baby. I tried a ring sling for a few minutes at some point but since I had already invested in a K'tan and Ergo I didn't want to buy another carrier, though it was quite comfortable.

A ring sling would be great for quick ups and downs. You can even do a back carry with it and it's adjustable, will grow with you and the baby. I would defiantly look into a custom WCMT (wrap conversion mei tai) with a ring sling waist...the ring sling waist would give you the adjustability without the long tails. You can get the shoulder straps made at a petite or in-between length so you don't have extra fabric there was well. The WCMT can be used from birth, unlike some SSC, and well into toddlerhood.

you could also consider something like a peanut shell. It's very simple and just one loop of fabric. It might not be as adjustable as you like, but if you get the sizing right, it would be fine.

i don't know much about babywearing but i'm 5'2 and 110 (prepregnacy - wish i was that now!) and i wanted a wrap for the same reasons you described. i ended up choosing the boba and adore it!! i chose it over the moby and k'tan because of the stretchier and more breathable fabric (as compared to the moby), and the fact that it's one size fits all so my husband can use it as well (as compared to the k'tan). plus, it's super affordable and though there is a learning curve to using it, once you figure it out and with a bit of practice, it easily becomes second nature. i wasn't sure how my baby would take to being worn, but she LOVES it! during her crankiest times, it's guaranteed to knock her out.

there are so many choices out there and i remember feeling completely overwhelmed. i was lucky enough to have some friends who had different wraps that i borrowed and tried out before deciding which suited my needs best. good luck!

baby hawk over the babyk'tan because you can use the babyhawk longer.
actually i recommend finding your local babywearing community and checking out their lending library for what fits you best.
i'm 5' and around 108ish and i use a beco gemini (ssc) or ring sling for quick ups and downs and a woven wrap for long term carrying.

i plan to sew a podaegi shortly. i made a mei tai but it wasn't for me--too much string trailing on the ground through parking lot puddles while i got him in it.

looking for some advice! i'm a very petite mom-to-be (5 ft and under 100 pounds pre-pregnancy) and looking for lightweight babywearing suggestions. my main purpose for this particular carrier would be just to wear the baby around the house for short periods of time while doing errands or for a quick grocery trip, from infancy.

i'm considering the baby k'tan or babyhawk mei tai. does anyone have any experience with these or similar carriers that would be good for a petite mama? super lightweight and adjustable is a must!

we're already getting hand-me-downs ergo and baby bjorn miracle, so this is request is mainly to get advice on something non-structured and not as bulky. thanks in advance for sharing!
