My daughter was mad for a week or so when I cut out her morning nursing session. She got over it, and a few years later, seems to have forgiven me. She really wasn't mad for long.

Yeah, I'd take @Tanjowen:'s advice, and drop the morning feed first. Just whisk her away to the breakfast table, give a special substitute for a little while, etc. Total distraction! Then when that session is gone, work on the nighttime one.

I held onto one session from 13 months to 19 months, when LO just dropped it on his own. But I totally understand wanting to drop it earlier! Good luck!

Ok, I don't breastfeed, so take it with a huge grain of salt, but I am bottle weaning my 1 year old, and I tried to take away the morning and night time bottle, and he lost. his. mind. I ended up just taking away the morning one because he's easier to distract and get breakfast in him right away, so we are just dropped that one and will work on the night one. So maybe start with one for a week and then the other?

Lo is 1 yr old so I had her down to just nursing at night and first thing in the morning. I'm ready to wean so last night I went in and told her no milk it's night time and sang her a song. She was pissed and cried for about an hour before falling asleep for 1 more hour. When I got her up this morning and wouldn't nurse she was pissed too! My dh thought she had hurt herself because of the crying :( it gets better right? Will tonight be easier?
