Oh my goodness! So exciting. My boobs are typically tender right before AF. My first pregnancy (ended up being a chemical pregnancy), my nipples were noticeably bigger and more tender 5 or 6 days before my BFP. I thought AF was coming, but then I started getting dull cramps, and decided to test. So, sore boobs are definitely a sign for me (and for most women). I tried so hard not to go crazy with the symptom checking, but I think it's part of the fun!

@FuzzyPeaches - I don't remember it either but I've been on BC since I was 17ish so anything before than is probably just me not being in tune with my teenage body ;) AF *should* be due sometime this week so we'll see...

I never remembered this symptom from before bcp - but last cycle was my first cycle off bcp in 10 years and I had exactly the same experience. I think I even posted about it, because I too was convinced I was pg! I tested zillions of times.

This is now my second cycle and again I have noticed nipple pain/breast tenderness in the second half of the cycle but it is not nearly as bad as the first one. Whether this is my new normal, or whether I'm still regulating after bcp or whether its a (fingers crossed, but unlikely) pregnancy thing, is too early to say!!

Good luck!!!

@SSLM - I don't remember this being the case pre-BC but then again I was in my teens then... I'm giving it till this weekend (assuming AF doesn't visit before then).

@RunnerD - Mine is the same! Although he did claim to have super swimmers, LOL ;) I asked him how he would know?! Problem is, I keep googling "symptoms" and there is bound to be at least one other person who experienced the same thing before a BFP.

@LindsayInNYC: my DH thinks I'm crazy when I tell him all the possible symptoms... He's like, so everything that happens to your body could be a "sign"? He's a skeptic to say the least :)

@MrsJYW - Thanks!! Not gonna lie, I'm definitely being a little selfish when it comes to this... We upped our insurance for this year so I don't want it to go to waste ;) I'm hoping the nipples aren't a normal (for me) AF sign... We're going to be in MI more once there's a LO for sure! MIL runs a daycare at home and is SO excited to be a grandma!

It took me months and months and months to come to terms with this, but AF symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same. You'll have to test to be sure. Good luck!

My boobs feel like they've been through the ringer. The only other time they've felt like this was when I got my bfp in august. It isn't a normal post o symptom for me. Wait to test till Saturday. Your cycles are still trying to adjust. Good luck. :)

I had a longer cycle too and didn't get a positive when I should have based on a 28 day cycle. Weird, sounds so similar to what happened to me. Good luck!

@BAO - I did on Saturday and it was negative. But pre-BC I had longer than 28 day cycles (usually 32-33) so if that holds true now, I would've ovulated Dec. 27 or 28 so I figured this past Saturdays test may have been early. If no AF by this Saturday, I'm gonna test again.

It's hard to say, because they can both be so similar, so take a test! It should come up positive by now if you are due for AF by the 10th.

Hm. I have pretty much the same story as you. On BC for year and my first cycle off BC was when I got my BFP, my nipples, specifically, were and are still very sore! Ultimately, AF & BFP symptoms are soooo incredibly similar it's really hard to say. Take a test!!!

I went off BC last month so this is my first cycle being off of it. I've been on BC continuously for 12 years so I don't know "normal" AF symptoms. I last had my period starting December 10 so I'm anticipating getting it soon-ish. Yesterday my nipples started hurting. Not my whole boob or the area around the nipple, just the nipple specifically. Almost like someone pinched them both really hard. Is this a normal pre-AF sign/symptom? I know a lot of people talked about sore boobs before a positive POAS so I'm not sure which this is!
