I was waaaayyyy heavy when I went off BC, seemed almost "too" heavy but eventually "leveled" out and seems more norm now.

I was always light for 2 days, heavy for one day and light for 2 more days. Everyone's cycles and flow are different, though!!!

I used to clot heavily when I was younger.. think HS and college. Once I went on BC periods were a lot lighter.
Post baby, periods are a little heavier than when I was on BC with little clotting.
Not sure if this helps?

OK, I feel like I'm 12 years old all over again and am re-learning my body. What does a normal period look like? I know that there are light bleeders, heavy bleeders, etc. But, is heavy clotting normal? I am asking because last month (sorry TMI), my period was very heavy, like alarmingly so (but then again it was only my second period coming off BC for 15 years so maybe it's my "true" flow), and it had lots of clotting. I had the sudden thought just now that maybe it was a chem pregnancy? I haven't had AF since then so I can't gauge a normal period. Well, I had some spotting for a week last week which mayyyy have either been just spotting or AF.

I do have a doctor appt this coming Monday. But the thought popped in my head just now, about whether clotting always accompanies AF.
