@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: It's ok if more than 24 hours goes by. We don't except to make money off of every click! And if you want to make sure your purchase helps support Hellobee, you could always click on the link again before buying!

@BakerBee: That would definitely help, if you didn't mind. Thanks for thinking of us!!

@mrbee: So in theory, if I was to buy something from Amazon, it helps the site if I click on your Amazon link and then go buy my [insert product here] ? Or am I not understanding?

@mrbee: got it now. 24 hours is a short window for an indecisive person like myself.

@Boogs: Not totally sure, to be honest! But we ask that people only click on ads if you're interested in the product...

What about the ads here on the boards? Of we just click those do they help generate revenue? @mrbee:

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Answers below!

1) Clicking doesn't generate any revenue! For Amazon, we get a commission if someone buys something within 24 hours of clicking on a link from our site.

2) If the link points to Amazon.com or rstyle.me, it's usually affiliatized. We add a visual disclosure on every post that goes up, usually next to the first affiliate link in the post.

3) We just pick products we like, and then see if they're on Rstyle (if it's clothes) or Amazon (if it's anything else).

We very rarely ever get anything for free from vendors. If we do, we always mention it in the post!

4) There's no way to track that. So we would get no commission.

Hope that answers your questions!

I read the "how we make money" section, but I have additional questions about the affiliate links.

1) does just clicking (not purchasing) provide revenue?

2) When a post has several links, presumably not all are revenue generating, is there a way to tell which ones generate revenue?

3) what's the process for choosing, using, endorsing, and linking back to the products?

ex: do you use a product on your own and then contact the retailer before sharing it on the blog? Or a retailer introduces you to a product and that's why you use it an include it in a post?

4) What if a product is purchased because someone saw it on HB, but didn't link? Is there a way to track that or tell the retailer about the HB referral?
