Not sure about breweries but Creede is pretty cool! Near Crestone there are wonderful hot springs in Mineral Hot Springs CO. It's a beautiful and overlooked part of the state!

I live in Fort Collins! If you do come here, try to find a hotel/rental near Old Town (I've heard the Armstrong is nice but I think it's expensive). That's where all the fun stuff is... Breweries (New Belgium and O'Dells being the most popular, but there are a lot of other good ones), restaurants, bars, etc. Summer would be the best time to come because you won't have ALL the college kids out at the bars and breweries! The west edge of town has lots of great hiking options (nice trails through pretty parks, no crazy mountaineering ;)). You could also drive up to Estes for a day of hiking! Be prepared, the altitude will have you doubt you abilities and fitness (and ability to hold your liquor, you'll be a cheaper date!). Airbnb and VRBO.com are good to check out for rentals! ETA: DO NOT stay at the Plaza Hotel though. It will probably be the cheapest but is known for it being the place for druggies, homeless, and prostitutes!

Estes Park would be a nice quiet, relaxing getaway as well. There are lots of nice bed and breakfast type places where you get a cabin to yourself. It can be cheap because you have a kitchen to prepare your own food. There was a flood last fall so some places are begging for tourists to come back, so you may be able to find good deals!

Wall me or we can exchange emails if you have questions!

I would vote for Fort Collins or Boulder for an inexpensive get a away!

Ft Collins is pretty & has some micro breweries, Boulder has tons of character & you can stay in nearby areas that are cheaper, there are many great mtn towns... Maybe Estes Park, Idaho Springs or Manitou Springs would be worth looking into.

You might check in to Fort Collins. Lots of microbreweries, medium sized city with nice parks, close to the mountains/hiking. Within driving distance to Estes Park (not cheap in the summer, but Rocky Mountain National Park is great).
http://www.visitftcollins.com/brewery-tours

Boulder is awesome, but probably less affordable than Ft. Collins.

Staying in the ski resorts is much cheaper in the summer, but not sure on the breweries aspect.

I live in CO, so let me know if you have other questions!

We love Colorado, Denver and Breckenridge can be affordable. (In Nebraska so it's not a bad drive.) Check into airbnb.com for a rental cheaper than a hotel.

DH and I desperately need some time just the two of us but we are on a pretty tight budget and need to go somewhere within driving distance from Kansas, affordable, and relaxing. We've both been to Colorado separately and enjoyed our trips.

We need seriously affordable (we are poor!) but somewhere with microbreweries, fresh air, quiet and romantical loveliness.

Any suggestions? Halp! Anybody feel bad for me and want to pay for my trip? HAHAHA jjjjkkkk (unless you want to)
