@Autumnmama79: I like themeditationpodcast.com. I found it on the iTunes podcast app. I use it a lot before bed or late afternoon since my anxiety tends to ramp up throughout the day.

I hope it helps- there are a lot of free meditation podcasts out there, i just kept trying different ones until I found one where the voices didn't grate on my nerves.

Hope you're getting some rest this weekend.

@Autumnmama79: It really sucks how little there is you/they can do. It seems like in this day and age there would be more, but doesn't seem like much has changed. It's still "if you're going to lose the baby there's nothing we can do."

@delight: So weird that they won't even test! Sorry you're getting stonewalled the same way I am. I didn't realize there was a May thread already but, see you there

@Autumnmama79: congratulations mama. I get what you are feeling. I'm terrified too. I'm also in Canada and I don't find that P is readily prescribed here. I went in to ask my doctor to give me a requisition for serial betas and it was tough to get him to even agree to that. Then I asked him if I could get my P checked and he flat out said no. At any rate best wishes for a healthy pregnancy! Hope to see you over on the May boards soon.

@Autumnmama79: I was put on progesterone, but they straight up said it was unlikely to make a difference and was only to give me some peace of mind. I was also put on a very high dose of folate after our third (late) loss, because her issue was hydrocephalus and folate helps with brain development. Beyond that there was really nothing to do.

I planned to take baby aspirin after my second m/c, but it's actually not recommended if you don't have a blood clotting issue. It can cause issues, though I don't remember what exactly (it's been a couple years).

@Autumnmama79: I am in Canada as well (ON) and I went to MS for fertility treatments. They are definitely RE's here, OB training is the background and then RE is the specialty they pursue. Your family doctor can test for Progesterone levels but you should call the clinic back and ask to speak to the doctor if he/she was the one that mentioned Progesterone and Baby asprin support for your next pregnancy

@LuLu Mom: thank you. I think my next step needs to be calling my family doctor and begging him for the p test.

@Autumnmama79: Congratuations! I know every practice has their own beliefs, but I would maybe consult with your past doctor to see their thoughts on progesterone, yes you can get pregnant but staying pregnant is the key here (my sister had 3 MCs and the fourth they put her on progesterone and she went full term.)

@Autumnmama79: I hope you find an Ob you click with soon.

I have really bad anxiety and one thing I've found helpful has been guided meditation podcasts. Maybe they'd be helpful while you're sorting through stuff with your DH, OB and your BFP news? It's rough since there's so little about this that you can control and that sucks.

WTH?? I just called the private fertility clinic and the nurse said they won't test for progesterone levels either! She said,"the doctor won't order those tests bc its his belief that if you were able to get pg naturally, then your body must be making enough progesterone."

This feels frustrating.

@Autumnmama79: REs are OBs with additional fertility-specific training. I'm sure the system may be quite different in Canada - it's just discouraging your OB is a "specialist" but doesn't want to pursue interventions... women with recurrent pg loss need extra TLC! Will they even agree to test your progesterone?

This one in particular is part of the women's hospital and specifically for recurrent pregnancy loss. But I did visit another (private) one, maybe I'll give them a call instead.
