I like to strive for yearly family photos (professional) but yes I do have to be intentional about getting nice pictures with my DSLR as well. I just did an intentional "shoot" with him last week. I just bought a Groupon for PP. Our pictures have always been great and we've walked out with them. I do them every 4-6 months. After LO turns one, I'll probably just do special occasions or outings as I imagine getting her to pose for a photo won't be so easy so I'd like to get more candid or action shots. They're always under $20 and you get a ton of photos. I plan on continuing to purchase these packages as long as they have them. We've had good luck. Since then we did 18 month and now 2 year old portraits. I'm not sure how often I want to do them now. Maybe just annually? I feel like she is going to grow so much between age 2 and 3 though!
