@winniebee: I'll probably be 35 by the time I'm done having kids and I still wouldn't have anything more than a breast reduction, and that's only if they get even bigger during pregnancy and don't go back down. Even then I'm not sure.

I've just never been particularly concerned with how I look, though I do try to stay fit and will continue to do so during pregnancy and after babies. Heck, I don't even plan on dyeing my hair as I go gray. It's all totally personal opinion though.

nope. I'm 26 but I'd vote the same at 40. I have no interest, has nothing to do with my age and everything to do with my beliefs/personality. :)

@winniebee: I'm a young mom (I think?), I'm 27, and I would do it if I felt I needed it, wanted it, and could afford it. I'm not sure right now if I would because we will probably have another child and I'm not sure what my body will do then. For now I don't think I would because I think I could get my body to a good place if I worked my butt off. Unfortunately the things I am insecure about just are what they are- stretch marks on my butt and thighs.

I would for sure like to get lasik and laser hair removal though!

I have a large tattoo across my abdomen that I expect will need some work to fix after babies.

I'm also pretty self-conscious about the wrinkles that are taking up residence on my forehead. I may do something about those, though not necessarily delaying that until after babies.

No major surgeries though. I know enough about the risks of deep sedation and general anesthesia (RN in ambulatory surgery) to know that I'm not interested in having them unless it is truly medically necessary.

personally no....I'm scared of something going wrong. and I think I look fine. I'm 32 and had a LO last year. my mom had 3 kids and she looks fine (abeit a little wrinkly, but her body is in decent shape for a 58 yr old). I'm counting on my good genes. :-)

The mother of a girl I grew up with had a sort of mommy make over and she fell into a coma. She never woke up and remained in a coma all through high school. I'm sure she is probably dead now. Because of this, I can't stomach the idea of someone with kids voluntarily putting herself under general anesthesia for a purely elective cosmetic surgery. But whatevs, right? Vanity reins!

@winniebee: I had DD at 32 and will likely not have #2 until 36, but I wouldn't consider surgery. I had DD by c-section and will likely have an RCS for the next so I'm not necessarily frightened of going under the knife, I just don't think the situation calls for plastic surgery. So far, I am not back to my pre baby body but I am lazy and things have bounced back enough for me to tell that diet and exercise would do the trick.

I'd like to get a breast reduction but that isn't really related to having babies since I was huge to begin with. I just know I'll have to wait until after the kiddos if I want to be sure that I can BF without issues.

I don't know. I have a close friend who had her nose done (before I met her) and I never would have known. It looks totally natural and not like a weird, tiny nose. But I've seen plastic surgery go so wrong before! I've had several friends who have had their boobs done, and they are too big (in my opinion) and the friends just look fatter overall.

So I'm scared it could all go wrong. I'dr ather have a magic genie who would do what I want (remove stretch marks, make the girls a bit smaller and perkier). but ana ctual surgery with a major recovery time? Ehhh...probably wouldn't do it.

@blackbird: Same here... I need to see a specialist like Silva suggested. It sucks, especially when I run (which is something I enjoy).

I don't think I'd get elective surgery for cosmetic reasons, only because I'm too afraid of surgery in general. If I could magically have something fixed without being put under, I'd be all for it!

Nope. When I was in my teens, my dad offered me a nose job since I was so self conscious about it. I got his nose which is to say it's a strong Polish one. A year or two ago, my dad had his nose done. It looks great and is very subtle. For him, it's the right choice.

In terms of body modification post kids, nope. I've lost weight for LO and postpartum weight gain. I'm happy with my body. I can fit in things again. I'm totally fine with my limp, saggy breasts. It just doesn't bother me.

Also, my mom's been through a lot of surgeries and health problems through the past few years. Seeing her struggle with surgery is enough for me to not want to do it by choice. I would also feel bad about making life difficult for my kids and husband as I recover from a surgery like that. The selfishness of that in the context of tending to a household and kids is enough for me to say no way.

I think the only thing I would consider is getting a boob lift. I've never been happy with my boobs. They were enormous for my frame before I got pregnant, were HUGE when I did, and now they are pancakes. I've just never been happy with them. I don't think I could justify spending the money though. If they were paid for 100%, then I would go for it!

I'm an older "no" vote. I'm not willing to fight nature that aggressively.

The (much) older bodies I admire are the ones that are obviously active--the 50-something lady who walks miles on the beach every day in her bikini and the 70-something lady who plays tennis and swims in the ocean (also in a bikini) daily. They're the definition of hot old chicks, in my view, and I plan to be like them one day.

No, I wouldn't have anything done. I was 27 yrs old when my LO was born and was extremely fortunate to bounce back without any exersize or dieting. However, I was an A pre-pregnancy, grew to about a B/C during breastfeeding, and am back to an A once again, without the perkiness I used to have :(

However, it's not something I would go under for- not worth the risks to me. Plus, we wouldnt even be able to afford it, and I would rather spend the money on LO's education or what not.
