I was on combo Vicodin and ibuprofen for about a week, then just ibuprofen. But I had an incredibly easy recovery from my C-section and was up and peeing and walking within a few hours and never had too much pain other than that soreness that kicks in 4-5 days PP but I was running back and forth to NICU from my bed every two hours.

I was on hydrocodone and ibuprofen. I can't remember how long I took it but I remember being encouraged to wean off and I didn't feel ready. I was in a lot of pain and for the first week before I got my staples out if I didn't stay on top of my meds I was miserable.

Percocet and Motrin round the clock in the hospital (I didn't feel like I needed that much but they wanted to make sure no pain was increasing my BP). Went home after 4 days and only took pain meds sporadically for a few more days.

I had OxyContin in the hospital, every 4-6 hours and something else in between (something regular like Advil/Motrin/Tylenol). Had OxyContin for about a week after discharge, maybe 1-2 a day, with regular pain meds when/as needed. Then just a Tylenol/Advil when I needed.

Percocet and 2 Motrin. I took this combo when I was really starting to hurt, at the end of the day usually. I stopped using the percocet after about a week maybe and just relied on the Motrin when needed. I moved a lot, just as an FYI. Dunno if that helped.

I was in the hospital for about 5 days and took percocet every 4 hours I think? And 600mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours. Once I left I took the percocet less often but continued it for another few days. By by the time I went to my 2 week appointment I had stopped percocet entirely and was taking just ibuprofen as needed.

@bluestriped bee: after my C section I was on oxycodone alternating with Tylenol, a Iron tablet and stool softener pill. After about 7 days, Tylenol only until I no longer needed it. At 7-9 days I could still hardly walk well. Just be careful, and take it easy!! If your still in pain for another week I'd call your dr. But 9 days post section, I think some pain is still normal

I had my c section last Monday and am still taking ibuprofen around the clock and Percocet 2-3 times a day. I have one spot that has searing pain that isn't near my incision. The Dr said it is one of the internal layers of sutures that is tied off. She said sometimes they are tight at the ends. Hopefully by the end of the week the stabbing pain will improve and I can stop Percocet.

I had norco in the hospital and a prescription for 7 days worth at home, but I started stretching the time between them so that they lasted till 10 days or so. Also took Motrin around the clock. I'd ask the dr if you're concerned! I had an incision check at 10 days PP and everything looked good, but sometimes pain would flare up if I did too much.

Once the heavy meds wore off in hospital, I took ibuprofen every six hours until I went home, then I took it every 12 hours or so. I never filled the percoset rX I had - but everyone's different!

@bluestriped bee: I had an ingrown hair around 7day PP that caused me immense pain. It felt like pulling! It was right on my incision line and hurt worse than the actual recovery from surgery.

I would ask your doctor to do an incision check!

I took pain meds (Norco and ibruprofen) around the clock for 10 days and a few more times after that. I was completely done by 14 days. The PP pain was the worst this time...I don't remember taking meds for this long after LO 1 or 2.

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm 9 days PP and I'm still taking pain meds. I'm on percoset and ibuprofen. I think I pulled something and now the pain meds aren't exactly working. It's not pain near my incision site but higher up in near the abdomen. I'm thinking that maybe I need a muscle relaxer or something. I'm going to call my OB today to see what they suggest.

I did get my percoset refilled on Friday and I asked the dr if pain is normal after a week. She said it depends on the person but said that I should start feeling better by the end of this week and shouldn't need the percoset next week.
